Reading about Paul & Robert Fraser’s trip to Paris in ‘66. This gallery owner Alexandre Iolas sounds fascinating!
These two lines popped out at me in the book.
I can see why John was jealous. This Paris trip with Robert was Paul’s rebuttal for John & Brian’s Barcelona, and you can’t convince me otherwise...
The universe is messing with me....
I’ve been researching information on Robert Fraser for a one shot fic about him and Paul.
Lo and behold today on Ao3 I stumble upon a story, by an author I’ve never read, and their story about Robert & Paul is beautiful!
The thing is, I’m 99.999999999% positive I’ve not read this fic OR any of their other works but, this story was SO exactly the format and timeline etc of what I was beginning to write, I just....ugh.
This is my sign that I need to focus on my other writing projects and stop being distracted by creating more fics. Besides, this was so goddamn good, mine could never even compare.

The def have that vibe that they hung out enough, they began to look similar.

It's so cute when Paul can confess to Robert that he loved his dad, the thing he can't do with other Beatles. Also the way Paul often hung around Robert's place, casually played some little music for him while he was working is just UwU. Not to mention the first thing Paul noticed when Robert visit him after his release is his smell of jail soap, and it scared the shit out of him (oh Paul you silly boy). God I wish I could read more and more about them (sorry John haha)

Do you think Robert was a bit like John? Both were bookworms but weren't fond of academic things.Both were rebellious at a young age,laughed at petty school rules and customs,not followed family's expectations. Both sadly became drugs abuse later in their life.Also,there is this quote about Robert:"He was not a respecter of persons.He liked people or he hated them", hmm, sounds similar to someone here.Bonus, Robert was said to be quite a mamaboy.I can't help myself noticing a few resemblances XD
I’m sure they were very similar, hence the attraction to both on Paul’s part.
Could also be why John was a bit jealous of his friendship with Robert. People tend to clash with those of a similar personality.
We’ll never know what the two thought of each other 🤷♀️

With respect to Robert Fraser. I love how I haven't seen he told any author a single story about his famous rockstar friends. And most (if not all) of his stories come from other people (The Rolling Stones, Paul, artists, etc). Imagine being so cool that you don't give a shit talking about these celebs but they are the ones sharing your memories to the world with such admiration.
The more I learn about the guy, the more fascinating he becomes.

John was jealous of a lot of Paul's friends, but he was particularly jealous of Robert Fraser. Did he have reason to be? I don't know, but I do remember that quote somewhere about Paul and Robert's relationship "raising eyebrows" and some of those raised eyebrows were within the Beatles. And I know gay men can be friends with straight men, but Robert was hanging out with Paul McCartney, the biggest heartthrob on the planet at that time. Take from that what you will.
