Not to be salty on main, but I REALLY need y’all to stop shitting on Jasnah/Wit. Especially if your only reason for doing so is ‘it means she can’t be lesbian :(’
I’m an ace lesbian, okay. This was my Dream. but y’all are sitting here acting like her being ace “isn’t enough”. Like she needs to be a lesbian to be worthy of your appreciation as a queer character. Like her “just” being asexual instead of gay is some kind of lowly second place in terms of queer representation.
It’s not. It’s toxic and it’s acephobic (and biphobic - she never genders her previous partners, and there’s absolutely nothing to say she can’t also like women) as fuck and I want y’all to fucking stop it.
Also, her having a relationship where she can let her guard down a little, and be vulnerable, and actually accept support and help from a partner does not make her any less of a person? It’s not out of character? It’s actually extremely healthy? And positive??
And also also: I don’t believe Wit is dismissing her asexuality. I don’t think he knows about it. They’re relatively early in their romantic relationship, given how Jasnah thinks about it. She’s had previous bad experience with her asexuality with past partners. It’s not at all a stretch to think that maybe...they just haven’t had that conversation yet? because Wit is an asshole, but he’s not that kind of asshole who thinks he can change someone’s sexuality by the power of his innate sexual magnetism. fuck’s sake.
