Do you attend McGill? If so would you recommend it to a student coming from the US?
Hi Anon,
Yes I do attend McGill. I am not an American student so I cannot speak for those students. However, I would say that yes, I recommend McGill to a student coming from the US.
McGill is one of the best Universities in the world and the best in Canada. For an American student, the trade-off seems quite good when it comes to the price of tuition versus the quality of education. Moreover, Montreal is a beautiful city and it balances pretty well its North American and European vibes. What I mean by that is you can easily live in Montreal without speaking a word of French and at the same time immerse yourself in a more European/French world; Montreal is often seen as the bridge between Europe and North America. I would also point out that the legal age and the beautiful campus can be quite attractive to students. :)
Nevertheless, I’m going to be honest. McGill is NOT easy. The challenge does come with quality of education. You need to be ready to work your butt off. Although, this high quality education does have its benefits, good professors being one of them. So if you are ready to be challenged in a beautiful environment, I would say yes, McGill is the University for you. :)
I hope this answers your question. You can always come to me off anon if ever you want to discuss this further! :)
