Derek looked over at Addison and then frowned. What was she going on about? It was at that point, he noticed his scrub top had raised up a bit and she had seen the bruises on his stomach. “It’s nothing.” He said. Thankfully, she hadn’t noticed the ones on his back.

Meredith felt stupid. She should’ve known better than to get caught up with an attending -- a married attending, at that and then to compete with his wife over his affections. Even though she had ‘won’, he had chosen her over his wife with the promise that things were gone between him and Addison she still felt as though she had lost. This became increasingly more aware when she had received a picture from Addison that was meant for Derek.
She tried to find the perfect time to bring it up to the red head but the stress and waves of doubt and insecurity became too much to bear throughout the entirety of the work day. So here she was, in a conference room with Addison Montgomery-Shepherd. Unsure of what to say exactly, instead she simply held her phone out, picture in tow for the other to take.

They tried in vain for two years, two years of tracking ovulation, routine sex and disappointment after disappointment, that left the relationship strained. When they finally gave in and accepted the fact they needed help it was Addison they called.
Arriving on a sunny Califonia day that didn’t match the moods in the room at all. Naomi offered Mark coffee while Lexie and Addison met in her office for the first time. Lexie looked worn down, pale and thin. She tried to put on a happy face best she could but there was really no hiding it. “Addison thank you for seeing us on such short notice. I really appreciate it.”
Derek keeps an old t-shirt of Addison's in the back of his closet and he can't bear to part with it, even though her scent has long faded from it.
I would like to say that he does have one of her t-shirts there. It is way back in there so that Meredith doesn’t know it is there.
