This is in response to the post about rape culture and James/Lily. At first I was thinking about how unbalanced their relationship was because James was domineering. I realized he was fifteen years old in that memory. Even when they started going out he was seventeen. I'm not making that an excuse but I think the point was to show james as a spoiled rich popular kid and how lily's "goodness" changed him. You see that streak of "arrogance" in harry when he condescends people quite often.

except for the fact that we don't see how lily's goodness changed him

i mean yeah he sacrificed himself for her and harry which is fair enough but he was really horribly predjudiced idek if they showed how that had changed (if it did change i mean sirius still hated 'snakes' so i assume james did at the time of his death as well) i would like james/lily a lot more than i do

i still hate that he refused to take no for an answer though
