Now that I halfway recovered from the incredible weekend and the Wembley show (N2) of MCR, I need to shout into the void because I have THOUGHTS! I talked with my sister about it a lot already and I think it would be so nice if we were at least somehow right.

The scene were Gerard visibly rebels against the secretary and doesn't want to put the uniform jacket back on combined with the Killjoys reference (when he reads the newspaper) and the fact that the remastered version of Danger Days was released the same day, fucked with my brain a bit.

Do we get a Danger Days Tour in the future. And will the final show of the Long Live The Black Parade Tour be the transition point?

What if the military style jacket becomes the blue Killjoys one at the end to mark a new era? The band turning into the Killjoys?

the way ray took some time away from guitar following the breakup to explore other instruments and techniques and different sides of production/mixing, and then 'rediscovered' guitar and clearly focussed on fingerstyle playing and bluesy techniques for a while, and now he's honing in on precision picking jazz-style and has been working away at learning cliffs of dover for months and is considering taking lessons...and just a few months ago he was on stage four nights a week playing all the solos he wrote in his twenties bigger and better (and better again!) than ever before just for the joy of it, all the while chatting to other career musicians backstage about how mastery of your instrument matters so much less than playing it with feeling and making other people feel something...this guy is completely offline, any work he's put out has been self-released and the definition of a passion project, he's constantly writing music and learning more and more about what he can do with guitar with no intention of getting money or public praise from it - no intention of anything besides doing it. we're so lucky when we get to experience his playing but there's something so admirable and comforting about the knowledge that even if we don't see it for ourselves, he's still doing that shit! he's writing music with his kids and mixing songs and experimenting with new sounds and techniques and instruments just because! like...ray is one of the most incredible rock musicians out there but the most inspiring thing about him is how much he just genuinely truly loves his craft!! fuck!

anyway here's the thing ;;; you're never Really ready but you'll have an amazeballs time anyway bc they put on SUCH a good show, i saw them a few years ago and cried literally the entire time they were on stage, it was the best night. wear something that makes you feel cute, stay hydrated, eat a filling but not too heavy meal beforehand, and be prepared to scream the lyrics and/or cry for like 2 hours and you'll be golden, that's all you need 🫶 and most importantly HAVE FUN 🖤✨

This is probably the best shot I got this night. I am so grateful that we're financially better off than some years ago, so this weekend was/is even possible. I am so happy, I couldn't stop smiling (those who know me personally know what that means) after the show, actually I am still smiling while writing this.

Gonna live from this energy for a while now, I guess. <3

it was watching this for the first time that mcr tipped over from "awesome band i really fucking dig" to an all-time hyperfixation for me. ray's enthusiasm, the way they wordlessly jump into exactly the part ray's thinking about, the way those parts work together and sound so fucking wonderfully insane...like these are two very talented guys but they could only get as good as they are through dedication to their instrument of choice and their band could only sound as good as it does because of their dedication to working with each other and that's what it's all about baby

like one of the really remarkable things about ray is not just how talented he is, because there are hundreds of insane guitar freaks out there, but how he's that talented and also capable of cooperating as a single element of a band for such a long long time. he went around confusing hardcore/punk kids who drew false conclusions about him because of his metal roots, he obsessively lay down like a dozen guitar tracks for the songs on bullets but also adamantly refused to let geoff and alex saavedra secretly retrack otter's messy drum tracks because they were friends, he was fully supportive of mikey learning bass from scratch to be in the band, and, despite some initial nerves about frank joining, he went on to form one of the most interesting and cooperative dual guitar partnerships i've ever heard with him and has never expressed anything less than deep admiration at frank's playing...he's a rare specimen for sure. truly in his lane, unbothered, focused, flourishing lol
