“ ... how lovely, ” elena said, looking up at the mistletoe hanging above them, then down at the werewolf looking back at her. sure, she could just make a joke about it and avoid the whole thing entirely but maybe she wanted to push it a bit. clearly she was being adventurous, and was also tired of him scowling at her at any given chance merely because of the angel blood in her veins. so she reached up and gave him a chaste kiss on the edge of his lips. “ merry christmas, grumpy grump. ”
walking closer towards the familiar figure, elena smiled genuinely, glad to see him at a christmas party after all those years. handing him the eggnog she got for him, it took her a couple moments and him playfully looking up around at the ceiling to realize that they were standing right under a mistletoe. lips parting, the girl couldn’t miss the mischievious smile on his face despite her surprise. then a smile tugged at the edge of her lips as she took the two steps to reach him, standing up on her tiptoes to reach his face, giving him a soft, lingering kiss. “ merry christmas ... and welcome home. ”
