Month 7 On the Road to Mastery
It is Month 7 into my road to mastery. This month alone challenged me with great lengths. The class I took was Market and Consumer Research Analysis. Looking at the name notifies the obvious that there would be much research involved. On the other hand, the research that I was assigned had additional research. This was not what I had in mind. Frankly speaking, this class exceeded my expectations. It challenged me to be analytical in research. It also builds the case to never take one finding without backing it up with further support. The research was so intense that I feel like I have become an expert in researching data.
There where several different assignments that challenged me and enlightened my intellect. One assignment taught on how to evaluate case studies. This assignment taught me how to thoroughly comb thru data and identify specific findings. I learned that the Median is that percentage of the data that meets the middle range of information. The Mode is the data that is percentage or number that appears frequently. The Range is the average of all data provided. These details pinpoint specific information to view in determining if the case study’s findings are liable and not biased.
Since the beginning of my journey, I have mentioned my incompetent technology skills. This class stretched me further and challenged this fact. There were two specific assignments for which consisted of utilizing software. One assignment was to prepare a presentation and the other a promotional video. Of Course, this was one concerned area of mine. However, I realized that the only fear with working with technology is the unknown possibilities of trying. These particular assignments commanded me to learn the programs in order to properly execute on these deliverables.
Finally, I reached the end of week 4. On top of having challenging assignments, I also have had technical problems with my computer. This made the whole experience this month stressful. Through all this, I still would not take the experience away. It has challenged me from incompetence to competence. This may not have been the ideal road to mastery. Instead it has for me been a journey.
