MCU FemShip Week // DAY ONE // Favorite FemShip from the movies
Following our poll for the 15k followers celebration, I’m pleased to announce the organization of the MCU FemShip Week from September 18th to September 24th!
This week will focus on every kind of relationships between female characters of Marvel (in movies and TV, X-men included). It’s meant to celebrate the canon relationships, but also to stimulate your imagination: what would happen if your favorite ladies had the chance to meet? or what would happen in another universe? another era? (so yes, AU are absolutely welcome!)
This event will accept any kind of content (gifs, graphics, fanarts, fanfics/drabbles, headcanons, videos, etc...) to be reblogged on womenofmcu as long as you add the tag #MCUfemshipweek (in your first 5 tags so we can see it, remember!) and you respect basic rules of respect (no stealing gifs/works from other people, no hate, etc...).
The themes for the week are:
Day 1 (Monday 18) - Favorite FemShip from the movies
Day 2 (Tuesday 19) - Favorite FemShip from the TV series
Day 3 (Wedneday 20) - Nemesis
Day 4 (Thursday 21) - Friendship
Day 5 (Friday 22) - Femslash
Day 6 (Saturday 23) - Family
Day 7 (Sunday 24) - Team
NB: if you see a gradation from days 3 to 6 or even 7, it’s on purpose. I’m not saying you should do Enemies to Friends to Lovers but... you’re welcome to think about it. ;)
Spread the word!
MCU Femship Week | Day 4: Friendship | Jiaying and Peggy Carter
(this series also counts as sapphic aesthetics)
It has long been a theory of mine that the entire course of the MCU as we know it would be different if Peggy and Jiaying’s paths had crossed back in the 1940s. Imagine, for example, Peggy had been part of the effort to initially save Jiaying from Hydra. So alerted to this issue, the SSR and then SHIELD would prioritize keeping Whitehall locked up, if not dead, and would prioritize keeping Jiaying (and the other Inhumans, once Jiaying shared this information with them) safe. They, and ultimately the world, would have an increased knowledge of Inhumans and how they’re no more a threat than “regular” humans, and Inhumans would have more of a reason to trust “regular” humans and their government. Meanwhile, Peggy would be charged with Jiaying’s care and (at least temporary) acclimatization to the States, and obviously the two women would forge a bond, a friendship that would eventually develop certain benefits. It’s a win-win situation: everyone in the world is more knowledgeable and less bigoted, Jiaying and Peggy are happy, and when baby Daisy is born (may I also point out that Daisy can be a nickname for Margaret?) she’s surrounded with love from her parents as well as her namesake/godmother and grows into a woman with all of her canon strengths but considerably less of her canon trauma. (She can probably also get her gf Jemma a lunch with her hero Peggy at some point, during which Peggy finds the fangirling sweet.) Peggy and Jiaying, though certain aspects of their relationship probably fade with time, stay close all through their lives, and Jiaying is in one of the front rows at Peggy’s funeral, shedding tears for the woman who helped her stay safe and even more than that helped her give Inhumans a rational voice in the world.
Literally almost everything else in the universe changes too, ~butterfly effect~ style.
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
This is a small excerpt from a Post-Defenders multific that I'm writing.
Karen Page is distraught because Matt Murdock never came back from Midland Circle Financial.
She never had plans to see the strangers who watched her crumble in that precinct after her world fell apart.
That is until she ran into Trish Walker.
