Every #labordayweekend us four Miller kids would go door to door in the neighborhood and collect money for #jerryskids and the #mdatelethon. We would spend the majority of the remainder of the weekend watching the telethon on tv. All the jokes, celebrities, singing, and heartbreaking stories of personal struggles with this disease. We would get so excited for the drum roll and to hear the new grand total of donations. This ritual became so imbedded into us this time every year, the end of summer, and the beginning of a new school year, that to this day, I get extremely nostalgic over the memories of my #dad and how much he loved watching this telethon (and crying his eyes out over the kids) and helping to do his part in the fight against Muscular Dystrophy. My Dad went to heaven in 1993 and he was joined by the late great #jerrylewis one year ago in August 2017. God bless you both. Exhausted and sleep deprived after hosting straight through Labor Day weekends from 1966-2010. Such tender #memories.
