Wade Wilson I love you!!!!!
Y'all! Consider something:
Wade Wilson knitting plushies! Will help him keep his hands busy with something constructive (creating!) and counter his belief that he can only destroy and doom stuff around him
Him making Wolverine and Spider-Man and Cable plushies.... 😔
My problem with RR Deadpool isn't that he is different, my problem is that he's completely stripped down until all left is a joke.
A humourous funny character, a comedy movie for adults. All trauma played down for fart jokes.
Exactly of what he should not be. RR's character depth is a tunnel painted on a wall, Will E. Coyote style. You look closer and there's nothing but a ground where fans are to dig to find development. And don't get me wrong, a fandom can and will make their own version of that character.
No, that should not be considered a character. That's a flanderization, a parody at best. Deadpool was killed in front of all of us and nobody cared. Not even a "Sad Clown" anymore, not the butt of his own jokes because humor is his coping mechanism, no suicidal ideation, no sadistic ambitions, no cycle of doing heinous stuff and killing innocent people and then trying to be better again. Because killing is a way of self-harm. No "Deadpool makes everyone run away from him because he is afraid of vulnerability and is drowning in his own loathing". No "Wade self-fueling prophecy Wilson". He jumps straight into wanting to be a hero without a single smidge of hesitation.
Which is poetic justice.
Of course, in the end, he would be seen as a joke; a desirable piece of meat for fanfics; a narrative tool and nothing else.
Stomping my feet and puffing up like a little kid everytime I see a dumb shitty Deadpool fic/media. Only (some of) the comics will ever get that man right
I am back! Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool is a commercialized, toned down, emotionally shallow with a cheap narrative tone Deadpool.
Extremely amusing that artists will put a lot of effort into rendering Deadpool's suit, and show you his emotions through the mask and body language, but then will draw Wade's face like a pepperoni pizza
