Miranda hair variation test
- 🌸fully modded version🌸
Hi, I tried following the tutorial to port old Mass Effect 3 hair mods into LE1-LE3, but whenever I do it, the hair looks really patchy and see through :// Would you be able to do a video tutorial on how exactly the process works? If not, I appreciate the effort you took to write out the tutorial :))
Hi there anon!! I've created a video tutorial following your suggestion~ 😄
(Please update me if the video looks too bright for you since my pc settings are kinda all over the place at the moment)
To be honest I too am confused by my own tutorial...now that I review it back...😅 Since the original tutorial from ME3Tweaks already caused a lot of confusion I kinda make a *cheat* solution for it by using another MELE hair mods file to port the old hair mod. 👀
**Just a little disclaimer, the mod assets I’m using for the example are not mine. I’m porting them for personal use only. If anyone wants to share their ported mod publicly then I suggest asking the original mod author for permission~**
1) EXTRACTING THE OLD ME3 HAIR MODS
As the title says, a simple hair extraction tutorial. This can apply to any old ME3 mods. Just make sure to read on the notes/instruction for each mod to find where the Hair Mesh & Hair Diff are located.
2) Porting ME3 Hair Mods to ME3LE (for 110 bones)
Tutorial on how to port ME3 Hair Mods with 110 bones to ME3LE. The hair mod folder where I ported the hair mesh into is from Even More Hairstyles mods by Moraxix. I imported the hair mod into ME3Tweaks Mod Manager & directly ported the old hair mod there. From the video, you can see my first attempt to import the hair mesh failed. This is due to the hair containing only 42 bones so I try out the new hair mesh which contains 110 bones. The hair texture is not kept in the same folder as the hair mesh so all I did was find them in the Hair_Tex folder. I don't show it in the video but once you save all the changes you can just install the mods directly from ME3Tweaks Mod Manager.
3) Porting ME3 Hair Mods to ME3LE (for 42 bones)
Same as the tutorial above but for hair with 42 bones. The hair mod folder where I ported the hair mesh into is from More Hair for Femshep (ME3LE) by Marcus22Khaar. As you can see I'm just choosing the hair mesh that I least use in-game to port the hair~ The hair texture contains in the same folder as the hair mesh so it's easier to change both. But there are times when the texture will not show itself with the mesh even after you save all the changes. There's no need to worry cause all you need to do is close all & open the updated file to check them like what I did in the video.
I hope the video can ease the modding process. Happy modding!! 😄
I did it! I don't know how I do it...BUT I DID IT!!! My first time trying out porting texture mods for the trilogy to MELE~ I really love the high-quality textures mod by heleuss & wanted to try this out for my own personal use. I'm so glad I re-learn ME3explorer & MEM modding all in one sleepless night.... T^T
right: vanilla MELE/ left: high-quality textures mod by @heleuss
now that Kasumi’s armor is available in ME2 and ME3 (armor and casual! And with the hood down!) I decided I can now go back to playing Trinity. Granted she is still in ME1, but I didn’t want to start ME2 before the Kasumi mods were finished. And then I also decided to install some eye lash mods. Aaaand that turned into a clusterfuck. So, I’m currently in the process of repairing my games and then I guess re-install everything? Make sure I have all the mods I want because I probably wont be able to install any more texture mods after this or something. Idk how this works. I just know when I tried to install the eyelashes they said something about not being valid because I had other mods installed so I had to repair my game if I wanted to use them.
Also, I have no idea how to make a backup from the ME3Tweaks Mod Manager. Even after repairing the game the mods that I installed are still there(?) and prevent me from doing a backup. So... Idk...
Why does modding have to be so complicated 😂
