- Not at first, but he warms up to it, and then absolutely becomes a cuddle monster after that but a shy one. He'll find new ways of asking for cuddles every time because he gets shy when it comes to that level of intimacy.
- He enjoys being both big and little spoon. He like the feeling of protecting you that he gets from holding you, and how safe he feels with being vulnerable in all ways when you hold him.

- For the longest time he'll say it through actions rather than words. When you eventually say it first, he'll learn to accept and say it back after that.
- He mostly gets comfortable with saying it only after you tell him first. After that, he always says it during important moments as opposed to all the time and always tries to make it meaningful.
S
- Jason is very protective of you, to the extent that he makes sure your safety is top priority in everything. He's well aware of his past and the enemies he has so he makes sure that you don't have to suffer those consequences.
- He'll make sure you know how to protect yourself so he can ease his own anxiety about you being in his life, and if you know how to protect yourself, he'll insist on improving your skills. He will also teach you how to use a weapon, but at your own request.
- The one kind of protection Jason treasures is emotional protection. He values the feeling you give him where he can be vulnerable and show his emotions freely without feeling weak or judged. It takes a while to build that safety with him, but once it's established he values it more than anything.
DICK
C
-He loves cuddles, especially from you. Physical touch is one of Dick's main love languages so any chance he gets to express his love for you, seek and give comfort physically and receive it, he'll happily take.
- He gives the best cuddles. They're always warm and make you feel safe every time. He also likes when he gets to be the little spoon and allow himself to be held and be protected for once as well.

- He definitely says it first because he's been thinking it for a while. Dick is very good at keeping things to himself, so he could have romantic feelings for you for a while before he says it, and when he finally feels like he can trust you, it just comes naturally for him to verbally express those feelings for you.
- He would either casually confess during a conversation or phone call with you or make an event out of it if you're one for romantic gestures. Either way, by the time he says it out loud he's very certain of his own feelings. He also says it often so you never have room to doubt his feelings.
S
- Very protective but doesn't hover, he does it silently by always knowing where you are, making sure that wherever you go you'll always have a way to get help should you ever be in danger and if you're in his vicinity as Nightwing or his other teammates and acquaintances. He definitely takes advantage of his connections to ensure your safety.
- He teaches you how to take care of yourself and makes sure you know several different ways to not only protect yourself but also how to communicate with him and send a signal depending on the severity of the situation. You know the location of at least one safehouse too.
- Seeing as he's the eldest out of his family and often the leader in the teams he's part of, he's gotten accustomed to taking the lead in most situations and having to stand up for himself and others in those situations as well. Being with someone who has no qualms standing up for and defending him whether it be verbally or physically would definitely mean a lot to him. It would be the kind of thing he didn't know he needed until he realises it.
TIM
C
- Loves to be cuddled, he's never really thought about it before but once he realises how good that kind of physical affection makes him feel he seeks it out more often and it forms part of his routine when spending time with you.
- He definitely prefers when you hold him the most and falling asleep to the sound of your breathing calms him down. When he's the big spoon, he prefers to stay awake until he's absolutely sure you're asleep before he lets himself fall asleep.
L
- Tim says I love you by casually taking a big relationship step that catches you completely off-guard. He realises that he loves you and acts on it - forgetting that he did not, in fact, let you in on this discovery. So when you confront him about the car he suddenly bought you, he simply responds "Why can't I buy the person I love a car? You said you need it."
- He says it after you've been together for some time. Tim's biggest thing is trust, and once he's absolutely certain that he can trust you with all parts of himself, then he knows that he can love you without holding back, and that's when he takes the leap. He has no shame saying it as often as you'd like him to.

- He is very protective. Get used to having a tracking device on your phone and at least one jewellery gift that doubles as some kind of protective weapon. If he's not a famous rich son, he's a vigilante so to him he has many valid reasons to ensure your safety without invading your privacy.
- Makes sure you can defend yourself using your body but also makes sure you can use a weapon as well. He has protection measures set up at your place and his for any eventuality. He has also made sure that you can contact him for help at your job should you be a civilian, and if you're a vigilante like him he has a private comms channel just for you.
-Being protected from himself. Tim is in his mind a lot and can make some rather hasty decisions as a result of that, or he forgets to take care of himself and rest. Having a solid trusted person as his sounding board who isn't afraid to be brutally honest with him as well as make him feel taken care of would be his way of feeling protected.

He knows what he's here for. Knows what he wants from you, what you two agreed on. The satisfaction of watching you come undone beneath him and the time spent learning how best to make sure you keep coming back for more of him.
That was good, that was enough for him. Of course it was.
Sometimes the idea, the thought, the hesitation would float around in his mind. Very briefly, as it does. Given the man he was, but logic would intercede and he would be reminded that this was exactly what he wanted from you and what you wanted from him.
It was beautiful. Simple. You didn't want or expect anything from him other what you two had agreed on. He just simply couldn't handle the risk that came with giving away his heart again, not anytime soon. He loved how in sync you two were physically and mentally with your agreement.
Maybe, deep down, in the farthest part of his mind, he could see how you both could be more, but ultimately sat in the relief that he could bury those thoughts and ultimately bury himself in you instead.

You couldn't deny that every once in a while you could see - especially in the way he treated you - what a relationship with him would look like. How he'd be attentive, committed, and responsible. But you also knew the level of loyalty that would demand from you as well as the commitment, the vulnerability.
Things you weren't exactly prepared to give. You had your secrets and he had his. Whatever the reason was that made him choose you. You were more than content to spend your time exploring him physically and never fully knowing the origin behind every scar he had, physical or emotional, and just being underneath or on top of him instead.
It made more sense this way, and it worked for you. Of course it did.

The vinyl he got you as a birthday gift last year is playing when he arrives unannounced, meaning he had a particularly rough night and didn't want to talk much.
You still know him well, as much as you wish you didn't. He knows you just as well too, as he's not surprised that you didn't have plans on the night he's usually at his busiest as Nightwing.
Dick actually did take his role as your partner seriously, and so did you when he was yours and you were his.
Now you were two people who belonged to no one, walking an invisible line that silently demanded clarity that you both knew you should seek.
But that would require both of you to actually talk about how you got here and move on from each other, something neither of you want to acknowledge, or do.
He knows he crossed a boundary by coming unannounced, you know he did as well.
You should confront him, he's waiting for you to.

You share a look, as if you could both read the other's thoughts, and come to the same agreement, never discussed yet fully understood, before letting yourselves get lost in your desires and the taste of one another on your tongues.

A - Affection
- How affectionate are they?
Cass's affection is intentional. She's not one to want constant shows of affection but she's also not adverse either.
Rather, she uses it to communicate affection or her needs at that particular moment as well as to give affection and reassurance or comfort as needed.
- How do they show affection?
Quality time and physical affection.
Cass values time spent with people because she knows what it feels like to not have that kind of freedom. She's more familiar with being by herself in more ways than physical, but also emotionally and otherwise.
She loves the intimacy of bonding through shared activities and learning about someone she loves through observing them, as well as the new but warm feeling of being known and perceived from a perspective of being loved. She also loves the intimacy of simple, gentle physical affection.
D - Domestic
- Do they want to settle down?
Cass has ever really known the concept of a domestic life, but she's learning what her version of settling down with you is like. Her version of settling down is a life that includes you in it, in whatever form that may take as she gets older.
To her, getting to have that kind of access to and life with someone in a situation that is free of obligation and just being wanted is new, and something she's still in conflict about whether she deserves it or not. However, she takes your consistency in her life and your continued commitment to her as reassurance whenever doubts plague her and the urge to isolate gets resurfaces.
- How are they at cooking and cleaning?
She has gotten better at cooking since you've known her and some of her creations are very.. interesting to say the least but ultimately edible because she wants to try as many taste combinations as possible. It's another form of expression that she has fun exploring.
Cass has her own system of cleaning and putting stuff away, an interesting combination of prioritising access to specific things and sentimental items. Her space is neat and organised in a chaotic way that makes sense to her and you let her have it because it is ultimately neat if not a little bit confusing to an untrained eye.
I - I Love You
- How do they say the L-word
For the longest time, it's through acts of service and small gifts.
The idea of tangible expressions of affection makes more sense to Cass than to simply tell you. To her, telling you should be after she shows you because then you're working on information with evidence as opposed to words that have no backing.
Words mean a lot to Cass, but especially when someone means what they say and stand by it. She's also intentional with what she communicates so you won't have any doubts or confusion.
- When do they say the L-word?
She says it so matter of factly one random night. Like important information you should know. To her, it makes sense that she should tell you.
She was already thinking and feeling it, so she decided it must be said. That kind of vulnerability was new to her, and she was aware that protecting herself from it was very different from what she's used to, but she decided that if she can be physically brave, she can also be brave with her emotions too.

She really loves cherry flavoured sweets and drinks, something about the artificial taste specifically makes her so happy for some reason.

- how affectionate are they?
Duke is very affectionate, but expresses it more as you get closer. He prefers to get closer emotionally first in order to get more comfortable with giving and receiving affection.
He tends to take all forms of relationships seriously, so that emotional trust and closeness aspect is very important to him and he takes building the foundation of it very seriously as well.
- how do they show affection?
He is a very proactive person, so his go-to method before anything else is acts of service. Doing things for you makes sense to him, it's also his way of establishing trust because he knows the impact actions have over words.
So why not lift the weight off your shoulders if he can? Duke pays attention to you so he can anticipate your needs and take care of you however you need to be. He's also quick to come to your aid if you need him, without question.
D - Domestic
- do they want to settle down?
Yes. Duke dreams of having the happy domestic life he had with his parents before, one day.
He's aware of the difficulties ahead, given the life he got pulled into and all the challenges that come with it, but he still wants a happy family life of his own eventually, whatever form it will take.
- how are they at cooking and cleaning?
Very good at cooking. Duke can absolutely hold his own in the kitchen. He has a lot of fun making food and enjoys the whole process.
He has his own personal favourite meals and he'll also sometimes make specific meals that he shared with his parents when he misses them.
He's also very good at keeping a clean space. Duke likes to organise things around him based on which part of his life they're attached to.
However, while he's generally good at keeping things neat and tidy, whenever he's under a lot of stress, the space around him can start to resemble the state of his mind without him noticing.

K - what are their kisses like? Headcanons
Dick - All encompassing.. almost consuming in a way. It's mostly because he simply can't get enough of you in every way and it definitely translates into his kisses. Even ones that are supposed to be short like goodnight and goodbye kisses, he tends to make them linger as much as he can.
Jason - Tentative and gentle. Despite him being like that regardless, he always takes special care to be as gentle as possible when kissing you, it's almost as though he wants to extend the moment for as long as he can, but you can feel how he's always giving you the space to back out should you choose.
Cass - Possessive. There's a reassuring energy in that you belong, you are home with her and she feels the same with you that she makes sure you get every time she kisses you. Whether it's a makeout session or a simple peck, you always know how she feels about you. You are hers and she is yours.
The sweater was blue, his favourite shade of blue. He could see that, he could probably guess that it was for him. But he still had to ask, to make sure.
The atmosphere between the two of you was still tense, delicate.
He knew that it would take a while for you to come around. In fact, he hadn't even expected to see you at his door this early in the morning.
The winter fog was still thick in the streets of Blüdhaven at this time of the morning, which meant it was the best time for him to leave unnoticed.
But you knew him.
You knew he'd be cold. You knew he wouldn't take care of himself as he was supposed to.
"It's for you. It's really cold today, it's gonna be like this all week. I want you to be warm."
Dick felt like his chest was going to explode at that moment.
"I want you to be warm."
It was such a small thing, but a big one to him. He had been certain that he wouldn't be seeing you for a long time, that you needed space away from him.
That you didn't want to see him.
Yet here you were - still upset and angry at him - and you were offering him warmth.
You were offering him warmth so he could continue doing the work that was the reason you two were in this situation. He had lied to you about who he really was, and you were still angry about it.
Taking his long silence as a no, you decided this was a mistake. "Um, if you don't- if you're okay without it I can just leave- "
"D'you wanna come in? It's really cold out." Dick made sure to open the door as he said it, emphasising his point. "I'll make you some hot chocolate. Your favourite."
The desparate hope in his eyes drew you in. He wasn't even hiding that he really wanted you to say yes. That he didn't want you to make a delivery then leave.
"Yeah. Yeah I think I can do that."
The visible relief in his eyes warmed your heart. Maybe, just maybe this trip had been worth it.
When you stepped inside, he took the sweater from your hands. "I owe you an apology, a big one. And an explanation."
He grips the metal post next to him, holding onto it for dear life as he pushes himself with all his might off the ground to his feet.
Staggering forward, the world is blurry and the street lights look like distorted stars too close for comfort as he navigates the dark alley.
Your voice in his head, berating him, telling him to be careful is so loud, as though you're there.A particularly painful, stabbing pain in his abdomen brings him back to reality.
He really shouldn't be surprised that he ended up in this situation, but it still hurt regardless to think about how he ended up here.
His feet feel like lead, fighting to be one with the cold concrete pavement below him. But he pushes forward, cutting off the roots as they form in every slow step he took.
You'd be such a great help right now, supporting his weight, helping him get somewhere safe where he didn't have to look over his shoulder to make sure no one took advantage of him in this situation.
He'd hate every minute of getting patched up, but it'd be worth it in the end, because you'd be there to hold him.
The cold air is stabbing him right where your body was supposed to be. He tries not to think about it too much.
Thankfully, his mask is still on. Dead, but still on his face. A small mercy he decides to be reluctantly thankful for despite everything.
Soon, he's able to find one of the many safehouses they all have around Gotham. It takes all his willpower to make sure that everything is secure before he collapses into a tired mass of limbs on the floor.
At least this floor is clean, and safe.
He has to constantly remind himself he is safe.
Especially with how hazy everything is to him. The floor itself seemed to be melting, he didn't want to touch anything, lest it slip through his fingers.

But at least he's safe.
