At some point, I need to rip off the bandaid and shake off the need for approval from others, especially the "cool artists". I already blocked a couple of them for gatekeeping characters they don't own.
In the past, I indulged in certain selfship fantasies about a fictional character with a fellow selfshipper. Those were fun times. If certain people in the fandom I'm currently in knew about this, they would not be pleased. Then again, they gatekept Floyd and bullied people for shipping him with female characters or an aged-up Veneer.
While I agree with their condemnation of the fetishization of incest, pedophilia and zoophilia, I don't wanna be in a crowd that gatekeeps characters they don't own or condemns smut of aged-up characters and media that caters to kinks they are grossed out by.
Baby trolls already knowing how to walk and talk is rather odd, but whatever. At least they made it clear that Tiny Diamond is ultimately still a baby by having him cry in the "Can't Touch This" part of Trolls World Tour.

I have absolutely ZERO sympathy for versions of Floyd that chose not to come back for Branch despite his promise.
I find it baffling that some people in the Trolls fandom who try to dispel the Floyd hate end up throwing fuel into the fire by turning him into a Bojack Floyd.
I wanna flush everything Bojack Floyd broke his promise and abandoned Branch for down the toilet. Bojack Floyd doesn't deserve success, he doesn't deserve happiness, and he sure as hell doesn't deserve to be saved from being tortured to death.
You can play devil's advocate for Bojack Floyd all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that him not coming back like John Dory makes Floyd's rescue from V&V and reunion with Branch feel undeserved. It doesn't make sense no matter how you spin it, and I can't even suspend my disbelief over it.

That same someone: characterizes Branch's brothers as having abandoned Branch, chosen to stay away for 20+ years and never considered the possibility of Grandma getting eaten despite knowing damn well that trolls at the Troll Tree get randomly picked to be eaten year after year.

The "it would make the protag happy" motivator is weak as fuck and it's overshadowed by elements as negative as "Branch's brothers knowingly left him where trolls were eaten year after year, never once considered the possibility of Grandma getting eaten, and never even came back to an empty tree".
Having Branch's brothers feel guilty for leaving and never getting to see him grow up doesn't mitigate shit unless they came back to a dead Troll Tree.
I know the "Trollstice went on for generations" bit isn't canon but neither is the "Branch's brothers are Bojack Horseman" bit, and I'm trying to make a point by talking about cases to which the former does apply.
When you characterize Branch's brothers as a bunch of Bojacks, is it any wonder they get hate? Yes, some of those haters may be media illiterate in regards to the movie, but that blatant character assassination of Branch's brothers isn't helping the hate.
If both the aforementioned bits apply, especially the "Bojack BroZone" bit, then a scene like this between Branch and his brothers would make more sense:
If Branch's brothers are characterized in a way that comes off as though they don't give a shit about Branch, especially with the "Trollstice went on for generations" bit and the context doesn't help, I'm going to believe they don't give a shit about Branch no matter what whomever characterizes them that way has to say unless bits like "Grandma Rosiepuff was forbidden from being eaten and Chef didn't get the memo", "[Branch's brother] had long amnesia" or "Branch's brothers knew about the Great Escape but had no way of finding Pop Village nor the means to track down their tribe" apply.

Fleek can be written any way. It can be written as a bad romance or it can be written as a wholesome relationship. Floyd can be written as a positive influence on Creek.
