Afternoon at Meadow Farm
Glen Allen, Henrico County, Virginia (USA)
Based on a photo from March 16, 2019.
This view looks toward a preserved tobacco barn on the farm. Tobacco barns are where the large tobacco leaves were cured. Growing tobacco as a crop began early in Virginia's colonial past, which dates to the early part of the 1600's. Even in the 1800's, Virginia farms like this one often had their own tobacco barn.
