I would like to hear more about this. Is this some version of misogyny/homophobia?('Only a female can wrap a male around his finger and manipulate him that way, surely Nyx would keep his senses when it comes to this male, a female would have been a different story')

🥰 both!!! in a weird gnarly way i would say both. lots of layers to it. no explicit biases but those implicit ones you’ve perfectly clocked—basically i think they would unforgivingly project eris onto milo and kind of assume nyx would like. just beat his ass if he got out of line. they would see milo as snakey and wily but manageable, much like they see eris, who they have no problem stabbing through the gut, choking in front of other royalty, etc. but ophelia can’t be dealt with that way. nyx would never lay hand on a female—and so surely he would be more susceptible to her more covert tactics, as opposed to milo who of course would use more overt aggression and thus could be dealt with more simply. ophelia, though, she could charm him and woo him and take advantage of him emotionally; she could bat her eyes and crook her mouth and lean in to show just enough cleavage. what defense does nyx have against that?

so yeah just like. very implicitly biased gender norms affecting how they would interact with milo and ophelia respectively, as well as assume they would interact with nyx and vice verse

Listen y’all need to understand that when I write a genderswap AU that includes Lan Xichen then she is literally the most beautiful woman ever seen on earth. i can’t believe myself man i’ve been in such a funk after this afternoon bc i heard someone talking about everyone going back to someone’s house to play board games and such and i was never told about it directly and it made me.... displeased.
