I had a really weird dream last night, and this is the most coherent thing I can make of it without writing an essay.

She's a bog body. I'm not exactly sure the peat bog situation in West Africa, but I read that there's one in Congo "the size of England", and that's close enough in geography for it to be plausible.

Sometimes I feel very alone with the way I think about monsters and mobstrous designs...but then I find artists like you that just GET IT

This is a very sweet ask. I would say "this is why I make art", but the truth of it is that I chiefly make art for myself. This helps, though.

I've made a small diagram to explain a few of my design decisions with Iwa. I hope it's illuminating.

In a lot of ways she was made for my own personal enjoyment, and to bunk some trends I've noticed in commercial character designs. I've always liked monsters, and often find myself preferring the angst over the power fantasy aspect... But there's still some of that seasoning in the broth.

Gripes aside, it's been nice seeing more and more monstrous female characters around.
