Porchetta/Salsa Verde & Lonetree Cider, Meat & Bread, Cambie Street, Vancouver, BC, 🍁
Just a few of the photos that I took with my iPhone while in Vancouver last weekend
Meat and Bread
Located in Gastown (370 Cambie Street), Meat & Bread is making the biggest buzz in town as the “best sandwich place”. When I first heard about this place I had to check on Urbanspoon rating, and Meat & Bread got a whopping 87% on a 379 voting! Putting that kind of number on the board you know this place is a making a hell of a sandwich.
As I walked my way towards the shop, you already see a swarm of hungry customers through the glass windows, and when you step in, a huge line of people are eager to order their sandwiches, the place is packed! I could barely push my way into the shop. I definitely enjoy the simplicity of the decor and set up of Meat & Bread, three side tables, the bar area and a huge communal table; the chalkboard that has the sandwiches written down.
Meat & Bread offers three signature sandwiches, the Porchetta (crispy pork), Meatball and Grilled Cheese; they also offer “sandwich of the day” and “soup of the day” which changes daily (follow Meat & Bread on FB and Twitter for latest sandwich update).
I ordered the Porchetta and Meatball sandwich, both absolutely delicious! The Porchetta had a good contrast of crispiness from the pork skin and tenderness from the fatty meat, words and pictures does no justice on how awesome it was. The Meatball was also very flavourful as it was stuffed with so much meatball that your mouth can barely handle.
If you love a hearty sandwich that is packed with flavour and meat, definitely check out this joint, but be warned, once you had it you’ll keep craving Meat & Bread.
