Some people were simply overworked. He knew it was a documented fact. Oversized cities functioned in this way and he knew he was now reiterating a common understanding. He simply wanted people to know why it was the way it was. He wanted people to acknowledge by what means mechanical copyright had grown. For those willing to build and provide platforms for such industry he wanted everyday society to recognise what they were paid for the supply of.
a narrative parasite is of course only a metafictional entity and survives by feeding on a character’s lack of agency, predictability, and mental stagnation. a narrative parasite weakens whenever the character it feeds from becomes imaginative, self-directed, or creative — because the processes of creativity break the closed loops it depends on for its strength.
