after one of her first breakouts, after she was being dragged back home, her mother decided she had already enough of that new situation. she could have physically restrained Chris and prevented her from leaving the house, but she was highly afraid any kind of restraint (i.e. locking her in her room for good) would somehow compromise her status as savior, thus making hers and Rowan’s efforts completely useless and condemning their community further. but, while she could not physically stop Chris from running away, she could do something to stop her from running too far away: sealing two of Chris’s abilities which could help her leave (mentokinesis, for she could have convinced people to let her go; and teleportation, which could have easily brought her out of her parents’ reach) by tattooing two symbols. the ritual was safe and would not damage Chris at all, therefore Moira did not think twice about stripping her daughter to a table and tattoo her with her own hands.

leaving the spiritual pain Chris felt as two parts of her being were locked away from her reach, the physical pain she felt was the most excruciating she had ever experienced. at first, her mother used a needle to carve the first tattoo (an elaborated tangle of roses and thorns surrounded by runes) around her belly button, then poured ink in the bleeding wounds, all while reciting formulas under her breath, uncaring of Chris’s screaming. once the ink, thanks to magic, dried off, Moira turned Chris on the table, tied her again and proceeded to tattoo a spiral on her right shoulder - this one surrounded by runes too. needless to say, she did notanesthetize Chris’s skin first.

an year ago or so i wrote a few paragraphs about this moment of Chris’s life. even if i have to revise it and rewrite a few details, if you’re interested you can read it here.

Lily shakes the gift several times, gathering clues from the weight and sounds of what may or may not be shifting around in there. She hesitates, somehow some of the magic behind gift giving was taken away after the gift was opened.

Glen wasn’t intentionally lurking around. Lurking was probably a bad word for it, but nonetheless, there Glen was, standing in the hall, partway hidden by shadow. 

It was this position that allowed him to watch Lily furiously shaking the gift. He smiled to himself, crossing his arms behind his back. Hers was the gift that gave him the most trouble. Between he and Jack, they’d puzzled it out. 

Inside her little box, there was a wooden carved dog and a pair of deep red leather gloves with L.B embroidered on the backs of them in golden thread. He wasn’t even sure that was an appropriate gift, but Glen figured one was fun and the other was useful.

His gaze fell upon the smallest of the Baskervilles, his fan having closed as courtesy. Ever since his ‘alliance’ with them, he had seen the same group of individuals every now and again. Keeping watch on him where they could, he supposed.

ran into @mechantrouge at the winter ball

       exaggerated moan comes   from cream covered lips. the little knight had made her way to the dessert table--- slipping away from the eyes of her beloved date. she needn’t have him judging her childish sweet tooth.        reindeer hues peak open, and silver fork is lowered from her lips. the utensil meeting her plate with a little ‘tink’ as her attention diverts to the newest company. 

“ah, hello there! would you like some cake too?”

“That’s gonna leave a bruise…”

There's rustling in the earthy bushes nearby a large oak, before a hand that’s scrapped and scratched from the fall shoots into the hair, thumbs up. 

       “ I, I’m okay!!” He'll walk it off.

She slides him a piece of burnt toast, her lips twisted into a lopsided frown. "Sorry, I... kept forgetting to keep an eye on it."

                          Oh Lily, such a clumsy little thing she is. Oswald was not one to pay too much attention to her, yet not that he had to --- she drew it to herself unknowing, and at times, it was fun to see her running around gardens with Lottie chasing after her for something she did or playing with brandersnatch as if he is a simple playmate. Sadly, sometimes her actions didn't end well or at least the consequences were not pleasant. Though not enough to even bring him close to annoyance.

                          ' Well . . . That's okay , there is always a next time , and you'll get better with each . '

                                                    unless her case was alike to his relation with tea, then it will always end a tragedy

Lily takes a seat opposite Josie, eyes wide from excitement and the caffeine she had snuck from the kitchen earlier. "I decided that I'm going to be the very first person to survive a week inside a blackhole."

In her hands was a half drank cup of coffee. Her earlier cup had mysteriously disappeared … and Josie had a feeling of where it had went. 

Placing her elbow on the table, her chin onto an upturned palm, she looks at Lily. “But Lily-Bily … I would be so sad without you,” she sniffles, looking dramatically away. “I would be crying for you every day for that week. Do you really want to leave me?”
