- I suppose there’s probably an extra challenge in starting completely from scratch in terms of your inventory. That does seem like a lot to handle in terms of programming, so I’m not sure if starting a new chapter will always require you to build from a previous chapter’s save file. 

- Yeeeeah, I feel like we need some kind of distinction between “pure darkness” and the apparently less-than-pure that the other fountains are made of! Maybe it allows Ralsei to bounce around between worlds, but maybe we still need more info!

- Haha, while that was my initial idea for the comic, it was also the part I was LEAST expecting to become canon. So I’m not surprised at all that we’re not getting multiple Ralseis in canon. ;)

I know it's just for funsies but I'm curious. What would it take for Crane to mirror Insans? Being in Alive's void? Being in Insans's original AU even though he left? Just being around him?

I’ve explained it often but I’ll repeat it for the new viewer. Crane’s ability to change color/design only occur when he visit a universe and connect to it. Their original Sans being there or not doesn’t affect it’s ability. Being around Sanses isn’t enough for him to shapeshift. It’s an instinctive parasitic camouflage for the AU to not notice his presence as he can be rejected from the open source. Like a nasty infection.

Sable's leg looks pretty advanced, is that just cosmetic, or is it still fully functional? If it is, who built it? My guess is either Rus or Undyne. Also, does anyone else have a new name or just Sans/Sable and Papyrus/Rus?

The leg looks fancier than it really is.  It’s mostly supposed to be a pipe with some scrap metal welded on for stability, and a few ball joints and pieces of rubber, with magic flowing through it to make it work.  It’s fully functional in that he can walk and run and all that, but it doesn’t work exactly like his original leg did and he has to compensate for that.

You’ll find out who made the leg in the second part of Expensive Mistakes ;)

And nah, no one else I can think of got stuck with a new name.  The Sable & Rus thing is mostly just for sake of clarity.  Like, in-story, Sans is just Sans.  Papyrus goes by either Papyrus or Rus, depending who’s addressing him.  (He really pushes for everyone to call him Rus, but Sans refuses.)

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but if you ever do find the time in your life to go back to comic-making, do you plan to ever finish things like flavor-text-chara?

I will absolutely not go back to finish that. my interest in undertale is basically gone at this point, and my interest in making fanart at all is waning. 90% of what I draw these days outside of work is original content so I would sooner publish an entire series of graphic novels before I ever went back to finish some fanart I put away

Does the 'incident' you mentioned involving Sable and Rus's dynamic switch have anything to do with the fact that Rus only has one eye in some of the coat concepts?

Nope!  They’re completely unrelated!
