Been up since noon/1pmish yesterday. Last night i went through Facebook, Instagram, and yes Tumblr and deleted or unfollowed those who i had no business or had no reason to have. I edited and put my self interest first. Felt good. Only positivity from here. I dont need the negative thoughts in my head. #mediadiary

Starting over. Starting fresh. I wanna be one of those girls who has a perfect life and always shares about it on the media. But im not and may not be for a longtime, so this will have to do. 💯% honesty. My thoughts outloud. I don’t want peoole knowing, but i know, somewhere out there, there are people who can relate.

Media Diary Review

For the past week I have been keeping a diary to note what types of media I use on a daily basis, and I can start by saying that I spend too much time on the internet checking up on a certain band. Looking back at the past week, each day consists of the same things, which mainly involve using social networking sites or watching videos.

From the look of my diary, whenever I wake up the first thing I do is turn my computer on, open up different tabs which all consist of social networking sites. I usually spend most of my morning on twitter, seeing what has happened over night and seeing if I have missed anything. Usually I tweet off of two different accounts, a personal account and then a fan account.

  I also noticed that I watch quite a few television shows, usually it is catching up on a running TV series, but most of the past week I have re-watched old band videos on keek and Instagram, and also watched some Twitcams as well. My media diary suggests that I am barely ever off my computer, unless I have to leave the house and even then I have trouble not checking twitter even though I checked it not even half an hour before.

  I have noticed that throughout the week, I constantly have music playing. Whether it be through my headphones or on my speakers, there will always be some sort of music playing. Even when I am getting into bed I will still play music.

  From looking at my media diary, it is clear which social networking sites I am more passionate about, and that is mainly twitter. This is because I can speak to friends across the world, and also keep checking to see what my favourite band is up to during the day. I do check Facebook quite a bit, but usually that’s just to kill time and speak in group messages with friends. I am most of the time on my computer, but even still, having a smart phone allows me to be able to go on these whenever I please.

  I have been told by people that I spend too much time on my phone, and spend too much time ‘following’ a band but those are the things what keep me entertained throughout the day. I try my best to get off these things by picking up a book and reading. This is a time when I barely check anything, but I will still end up putting the book down and check on things just in case I miss anything.

  By doing this diary, I have seen that throughout the day I barely do anything productive, I just spend my days either watching things or keeping in touch with people and it has made me realise that once in a while it would be nice to go out and do things, rather than spend my time cooked up in my room on my computer.
