They knew Vox was going mad. Declaring war on Heaven was the worse decision he had made. Now, that cannon? They couldn't help Vox, this was his own decision. They hid in a higher part of the Vee's tower. They had never been this afraid for him.
Their marriage hadn't been the best. It was quite of quick decision, neither of them had thought about what it had meant. They was a different person all those years ago. They hadn't known love then, now they knew even less of it. Vox hadn't been as bitter as he is now. They wondered about him, what had changed it?
Perhaps it was the Vees. They didn't mind them spending together, and they had learned to turn a blind eye in Vox's affairs. Their relationship wasn't perfect, but it was great as it could get in Hell. They considered going to Lucifer for advice. He had married Lilith after they had fell, he could help. But that was off the table, they had ruined the relationship with Lucifer before Charlie was even born. Their decision to live and marry a sinner had been the first match to the bridge.
They could hear Val cursing, Vox trying to calm him down. Emeiel didn't have time to walk downstairs and just teleported down. As soon as Val had one look at them, he dropped Vox's head.
Wait a damn second.
They looked down at the tv screen that was their husband's head. Valentino immediately shooed Velvette out of the room and shut the door. Emeiel gently nudged the head with their sparkly blue boot. "Vox, is that you?" They just got a grunt, Vox had turned off his screen. They sighed and picked up the tv, it wasn't that heavy. "I hate to say it, dear, but I told you it wouldn't go well."
They carried him over to his room, they could tell that he was heated. They set him down on a table. They could hear him grumble as they made themself tea. "You willingly to talk, dearest?" When he doesn't speak, which is surprising. They sit down, crossing their legs. "Fine, if you won't talk to me, I will."They sip their tea and sets it down. They fixes the screen so he's looking at them. "You, an overlord, a famous man, and a-" they look away, "a charmer, single handedly ruined your reputation. You might be thinking that I didn't see what happened-"
"Why didn't you help?" He says, pissed off. They look down at him. "You're my wife, you were supposed to be there."
"You should know by now, Voxy." They lean down, going face to face with him. "I will never show my face in public with you. We may have married before you got popular, but I won't be another whore on your screens." They flick his antenna and lean back. "You already have the Vees for that."
He grinds his teeth, "I could make you come with me, how you would like that?"
"How's that gonna work? No body, no popularity, and your friends might leave too." They stand up and walk to the door. "Why would you need me anyways? You like Alastor better." They slip out the door, Emeiel can hear Vox's protests, telling them to go back.
