Had an awesome meeting today about collaborating with some great groups in Hillsborough to better serve the Ybor City area. Why Ybor? In our 6-county Service Area, Ybor City is one of four areas with a large uninsured population, a high rate of late stage breast cancer diagnoses, and a large African American population (African American women are diagnosed with late stage breast cancer twice as often as White women). Komen is partnering with the Witness Project and Sistah's Surviving Breast Cancer to address this huge issue more fully in each of these 4 communities.
