Finally started to unfuck my balcony. Some of the "bees mix" plants I planted last summer regrew despite zero care, so I'm keeping those. Threw away a very old bag of earth - well, the plastic had degraded so much that it was more of a loose heap - and swept up the plastic from various nooks. Weather has been too wet to really sweep the blown-about earth, though.
Guy next door came out for a smoke as I was dragging my heavy bigass trash bag inside, which reminds me that I was meaning to order some bamboo to block the view on that side (the other side's got a wall, though the neighbor from my upper right can still look down on my balcony)(not that I plan to laze about naked on it, I just hate the whole smalltalk thing that people start).
... ok, ordered the plants (red and black bamboo) and some humus. Probably could've gotten them cheaper in my local garden center, but those rarely have bamboo, and then not these sorts, and the plants they do have are small. Maybe the investment will encourage me to actually take care of my plants this time.
I just went into my kitchen to finally hang up my re-washed clothes, and something in my bigass trashbag of earth is buzzing quite agressively. Sounds like just one insect, possibly a wasp, and though I know those are endangered I am NOT gonna let it out while it's in a mood. The bag's just tightly twisted, not knotted, so it'll have a fighting chance once it's in the bins outside.
