   Concern  flashed  over  the  Kurta’s  features  at  Leorio’s  words  as  he  stared  at  Leorio.  What  had  happened  to  cause  such  a  feeling  ?  Guilt  writhed  in  his  stomach.  Kurapika  didn’t  even  have  the  faintest  idea  what  might  have  been  plaguing  his  friend  due  to  his  self-imposed  isolation.  What  help  could  he  be  if  he  didn’t  even  know  what  was  wrong  ?  A  hug  was  the  least  he  could  do.

   In  truth  ,  Kurapika  hadn’t  planned  to  cross  paths  with  Leorio  again.  But  it  seemed  both  their  work  had  brought  them  to  the  same  town  ,  leading  them  here  for  paths  to  cross  once  more.  He  hesitated  only  a  moment.  Then  he  closed  the  distance  and  wrapped  his  arms  around  Leorio  to  hold  him  close.

   “  Are  you  okay  ,  Leorio  ?  Did  something  happen  ?  “  He  asked  after  several  moments  of  silent  hugging.  He  didn’t  pull  away  ,  but  rather  he  treasured  the  moment  they  had  together  like  this.  He  didn’t  know  when  or  if  there’d  be  a  next  time.

Mk sighed and regarded the clipboard with some distaste.

“It’s Shelley’s charts. She’s definitely not at the levels she should be at. She’s gonna have a lot of tank time in the near future.”

Mk didn’t over look how those memory gaps affected Sentinel, but he quietly hoped she couldn’t remember how she got deactivated, his own memory of his initial death still troubled him and he would like to see her spared. Still... It hurt him to see her upset.

He pulled her into a hug despite himself. Not his over joyous bear hugs, but the soft ones he only ever shared with Sen and Shaska in somber moments like these.

“Im glad we are all together again. I can protect you both properly this time.”

it’s an absurd kind of thing, to revel in the presence of another as they did. to the outside, perhaps it seemed different, but there were many complexities that came with accepting another, especially one such as he and kurapika was not ignorant to that fact.

to find repose in another’s arms, to share a day wrought with strife and feel even a sliver of allievitation, to be greeted with a warm beverage; it seemed almost ridiculous, how fortunate he could consider himself. fortunate that one so mulish, so undeniably resolute, had decided that in his life, there was room for something like him, something decaying and loathesome.

❝  what did you have in mind ? ❞ to make time for another in a world so inundated with chaos. both lives interwoven, separated at the seams yet finding one another one again. it seemed of a dream but perhaps, he could be so imprudent as to indulge it, if only for a little while.

her abilities were useful, but they didn’t match the skill of an actual doctor. if she healed a bone that was set wrong, it would be damaged for life-- for that reason, she needed him to be fit, if anything happened. that was a purely pragmatic reason, but the truth was she’d grown a little fond of him and his big mouth in the time they’d been working together.

vera reached a hand out, hovering over his head. she couldn’t use her nen to cure his illness, but she could soothe the strain on his body and push him towards recovery a bit faster.

gathering up her aura, she pushed it out towards him, through her hand. within a few moments, he would feel his fever start to lighten, the heaviness in his body lifting, his aches dissipating like the sky opening up after a storm.

“there,” she said, sitting back on her heels once she was down. “now, tell me-- do you have any idea how this happened? you were fine a few hours ago.”

‘i can’t lose you.’ (SORRY)

this  wretched  anguish ;  he  should  have  known  ....  this  tiny  WARRIOR,  with  clenched fists  &&  rancour  unbridled   walked  a  path  of  peril,  licked  his  wounds  beneath  the  piled corpses  of  his  wrath  &&  inevitably,  would  die  a  dogs  death.  

jaded  eyes  find  repose  upon  that  countenance,  there's  an  unnerving  sense  of alleviation  that  comes  from  his  presence,  even  with  the  severity  of  his  wounds,  the pain  that  resonates  from  gaping  cavities ,  torn  sinew  &&  shattered  bone;  he  can  find some  thread  of  serenity.  

❝   i  am  insulted  that  you  would  think ...  i  would  die  so  easily...  ❞   serrated  words remnants  of  jests  that  hung  in  the  air  between  them,  a  friendship  forged  at  the  start of  this  journey,  when  he  had  been  but  a  ravenous  child,  ablaze  in  the  kindlings  of reprisal  but  now ...  he  had  aged  so  painfully,  could  anything  akin  to  that  flourish once again  within  him ...  what  a  foolish  thing  to  even  consider.

trembling  hand,  fingers  that  are  stiff  &&  refuse  to  submit  to  him;  reach  out  &&  settle atop  the  medical  students.

➋ Have you ever roleplayed with someone that just left an unforgettable impression on you?

In this fandom? Everyone obviously – laughs no I really do like everyone in this fandom I’ve rped with, I feel like (not to sound really snobby) HxH is really nuanced so it’s been cool to see people actually work to understand and portray those character nuances rather than reducing them to one or two personality traits, which is the easy way out.

Across fandoms though I’ve definitely had partners who have done threads with me that I’ve saved for years and sometimes reread because they’re so good. Some of those people I’m still friends with even though we don’t rp anymore. Mostly I’m just grateful to have had the opportunity to meet cool people and good writers who have lasted in my life and inspired me to keep being creative, and through tumblr rps of all things haha.

➏ What’s the one thing you especially love about roleplaying your muse?

I guess Kite is a character who doesn’t change the way he interacts with people regardless of who he’s talking to? He doesn’t particularly hold any grudges, and he’s not particularly close with anyone… even when it comes to Gon, he’d still hold him to the same standards as he would anyone else. So it’s been kind of interesting to rp a character who’s not amoral per se, but who doesn’t have strong feelings towards one way of life over another? I think that quality of his makes him a good Hunter but a bit detached as a person, and not necessarily happy, just kind of… being.

➓ What were some of the most frustrating moments you had with your muse’s interaction with another muse?

Hmm, I guess in general, sometimes I wish Kite was a bit more emotional/easy to rile up because those sorts of interactions can be fun. But I struggle to really think of scenarios where that would realistically happen. I mean, the dude didn’t bat an eye when his arm was torn off. He sometimes has… flashes of emotion, fear and anger and whatnot, but I think most of the time he keeps all that bottled in if he feels it at all. So I suppose I kind of wonder if my interactions with people can feel less dynamic because of that.

the kurta fiddled with the device he held in his hands, his fingers looking for something busy to do as he stared STRONG-WILLED into his friend’s eyes. he sometimes hated that about him. Leorio was always so concerned, so honest, so blunt and straight-to-the point. 

so endearingly kind. he hated that. he didn’t deserve need kindness.

with that, Kurapika tucked the old device into his pant pocket. the old thing was already falling apart, the screen dulled and cracked from overuse and rough handling. despite all that it wasn’t BROKEN, therefore he can use it and he did not need a new phone.
