I keep thinking about Shoko during her med school days. Gojo likes keeping her company (or that’s what he says, we all know he’s just feeling lonely and bored and wants to annoy someone). Then one day Shoko notices how off Satoru seems, like unbelievably quiet. Then she realizes that it’s officially been a year since Geto’s gone rogue.
She somehow convinces Gojo to speak up/ask what’s on his mind and he finally spills. For the first time, he talks about his sadness and frustration and confusion, all the pent-up emotions he’s felt and bottled up since his best friend left. Cue Shoko trying to console an upset Gojo as she tries to understand not only his feelings but her own, realizing that she never even shed a tear over Geto. It’s part of the job, they’re not supposed to cry. They have to learn to move on
honestly, reading your ask made me realise, that while everyone talks about how much satoru and suguru have changed since their student days, it’s also apparent how much shoko has changed. you can’t tell me that she wasn’t forced to grow up too quickly, and even if she hides it well, it’s obvious that being a doctor (and seeing a multitude of shamans die) took its toll on her too !!
