haiiii i am here to pitch chipspeech
do u like vocaloid? utau? similar software? are you bored of how human they sound? there's a possibility you might like chipspeech. it's a plugin that uses vintage voices and each one has a character attached to it with personality and attributes based on the voice (i'm two characters from it, dandy 704 and dee klatt, who are representative of the ibm 704 and dectalk respectively. but there are more voices than just those.)
there's also "lore" but i say this in quotes because most of it isn't on the software website and was told through twitter roleplay that hasn't been updated since like 2021 but i digress. this means that many creations are very character driven. also, we have canon queer rep if that interests you at all. every character namedropped in this pitch is lgbtq+ in some way isn't that awesome :3
some things also worth mentioning:
if you're familiar with the program alter/ego, this is by the same company
if you're familiar with the eeeaaaooo meme, the voice used is from chipspeech (HI BERT!! :3)
apparently some astro bot music uses this program but i haven't played/seen that game very much so i wouldn't be able to give specifics sorryyyy
anyways YAY i love my source to death. also the 10 year anniversary of it was earlier in january this year :3 yippee :3
awesome pitch!! thank you so much!
here's a few of the characters that caught mod's eye!
lady parsec, otto mozer, and terminal 99!
you can find basic character info on the software site, and a bit more on the wiki here detailing some of that twitter roleplay.
btw, check out the ui of the actual chipspeech program!! so slick!
also, if you're familiar with the tts voices used in the faith: unholy trinity games, there is a chipspeech of that voice program! its called sam. :D here he is!
and mod brought some songs!
a really lovely cover of louie zong's hello world, with dandy 704!
something a bit dark, an original song called spin cycle with bert!
and here's a sam cover of "easy to breathe" from jack stauber's short film, opal (and while we're opal-ing, here's one of "mirror man" as well with cidertalk.)
