Washington, D.C. based electropop band Medlow quickly snagged my attention with their infectious new single I Don't Want You. The band released their debut self titled album last year, and this single is the first new offering since. The luminous electronic and alt pop song pulses along sharply in a manner that reminds me of Scotland's CHVRCHES, but its vocals and melody also remind me of warm synthy bands like St. Lucia and Magic Man, with the addition of an incredibly sultry, growling guitar solo. Medlow is also inspired by some epic 80's acts like Depeche Mode, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, and The Cars. The band is currently preparing for a new album.

Let's Talk: Music
So this group Medlow came to my school today to sing some songs and chill and according to my band teacher they are the "next big thing". All the songs they sang to us were acoustic and they seemed to sound pretty good for a live performance. I personally like them better live than on cd. Their names are Gabe(pianist/ vocals), Jordan(who didn't show up but he plays guitar), Christian(Bass), and Bobby(Drums). They are 22, 23, and 24 and are from Virginia. I'm telling you guys this so you can check them out and maybe like them, maybe love them, and perhaps hate their guts. They are pretty dorky and cool.
