one of the things I like about how my comrades have helped me learn about marxism is that it hardly ever feels like they are arguing a stance on an issue.
It is almost always like, a presentation of information, with the goal of finding out “what conclusions can we all draw from this information?” Like our goal is always to learn from the past, understand what happened and why it happened, draw parallels. It’s mutual teaching and learning.
I am kind of an argumentative person(understatement?), so on the rare occasions it has felt more like a debate, I can confidently say I was not an innocent party. Not to say that debates and arguing for a particular stance is never appropriate, because there are definitely times where it can help. But I really think the way I have been folded into the group has had a profound effect on my political thinking, how I interact with those with different and similar political views. Treating everything as an argument that needs to be won is not a great way to go through life, and like, sure, I might have known that logically, but now I can really see the alternative, how not to make everything an argument.
I have a lot to write about recently. Been using this blog more and more like a journal or something. side note: anyone on tumblr know how to search your own blog for particular types of posts? like, for example see every picture you have ever posted or just look at text posts?
