I wanna take a moment to talk about the Trans Journalists Association.
The Trans Journalists Association, founded in 2020 from a Facebook group of trans and non-binary journalists, is a non-profit organization focused on accurate, nuanced media coverage of trans people and issues, while also aiding journalists with guides and tools to be more trans inclusive/friendly in their writing and/or in the workplace.
One of the resources available is their Trans News Initiative. This free, visual, data tool allows anyone to find, search, and filter through news articles (from January 2020 to present day) about transgender people in the U.S. Some of the categories to filter through include "trans people in sports", "health care and bodily autonomy", and "anti-trans violence and hate", with their most populated category being "pop culture and creativity". Within each category, articles are again grouped into events/topics; the most popular topic in "pop culture and creativity" is "Dave Chappelle's controversy". Once an event/topic is selected, users can find specific articles relating to the event/topic and can even link back to specific articles. You can even view how the articles are politically aligned.
I wanted to share this for two reasons. Reason #1, I think it's nifty and wanted to spread the word. Reason #2, one of the executive directors of TJA, author Tre'vell Anderson, had guest starred on a podcast I follow (called Quit Playin' with Jazmyn and Amber, two black female comedians who are also mothers, highly recommend, though I don't necessarily agree with all of their stances) and they had informed me of the fact that Dave Chappelle's controversy was the most popular topic in the most popular category of the Trans News Initiative. That information reminds me to remind everyone (including myself) to focus less on the hate of the oppressors/haters (or the disdain we have for them) and focus more on uplifting, supporting, following, and centering the oppressed, whether it be trans people, queer people, people of color, women, disabled people, or people of marginalized communities. And a great way to do that would be to subscribe to Trans Journalists Association!
i think we should be ridiculing them more for this. you don't get to try and go all "queer website" when your staff likes to go on nuking sprees targeting the trans fem users
every time I use my vicks vaporub I think about the enslaved women Lunford Richardson knew who were making menthol salves for their families and whom he probably got the idea from. Everyone say thank you to the enslaved women who invented Vicks vaporub

Suddenly thinking of 1989βs The Little Mermaid and you know what, give Eric some props here because he had the weirdest fucking hour of his lifeβ
Wakes up from hypnosis where he was about to marry a woman heβs never seen before with his mystery girlβs voice, the instant he wakes up then the cute girl heβs actually fallen in love with now has that voice. Then she drops to the floor and has a fish tail, and then the first girl is suddenly cackling βtoo late!β and bursting out of her skin. So it turns out sheβs actually an octopus woman who drags herself over to the real mystery girl - whoβs a mermaid?! Theyβre real?! - and taking her back into the ocean. And Eric has no idea whatβs going on here but okay, one of these women is clearly evil and he needs to go after his mystery girl.
And all of this happens/he realizes what he has to do within like, a single minute.
Prior to this he was just living out a sweet romance after having a Meet Cute with a shipwrecked girl, but okay, guess heβs involved in whatever the fuck this is. Acting first, questioning later.
From a hospital bedβ¦ Najah is calling out to you .π
My name is Najah. I am not just a number in a medical report, nor just another patient in a hospital room. I am a girl with dreams, a mother waiting for my recovery, and a home waiting for my return.
Today I am writing to you with a tired hand⦠but my hope is not tired. The doctors confirmed that my treatment is possible and that my condition can improve, but time is not unlimited, and support makes the difference.
Imagine that a very simple decision from people who do not even know me could be the line between pain and healing, between staying on this bed and returning to life again.
Here, on this bed, every small act of support can turn into a heartbeat of hope, a chance to stand again, and a real beginning of recovery.
Pain is hard⦠and waiting is harder⦠but the hardest part is knowing that survival is close, yet still needs just one small step.
I am not asking anyone to carry this burden alone. All I need are hearts coming together through small steps that complete this journey.
With your support, I can rise, and with your support, I can return to my dreams, and with your support, my name βNajahβ can truly become βsuccess.β
Pleaseβ¦ do not let this message pass in silence. One step from you could be the beginning of a new life for me. π
Najah , her mother, will not forget your silence, and she will not forgive a heart that didn't move, or a hand that didn't reach outEvery donation, every share, every word of support... could be the difference between life and death for Najah
She is suffering from a severe calcium and iron deficiency... her body is weak, and her life hangs between hope and danger.

Najah lives with her family in extremely harsh conditions where suffering and illness are deeply intertwined. Her husband is injured and urgently needs surgery, but he is unable to receive treatment, which places an even greater burden on the family and leaves Najah carrying the responsibility alone.
Amid this hardship, life in the tents becomes even more difficult, with the spread of insects and rodents causing illnesses and infections, especially among children. Every day turns into a struggle for survival in unsafe and extremely difficult living conditions.
Pleaseβ¦ do not leave Najah and her family alone. π
Time is passing harshly, the need is urgent, and every moment of delay increases the pain and weakens hope.
Sharing this message or donating even a small amount could be the real difference between continued suffering and the beginning of a new life.
Do not underestimate a small step from you.
it may be the reason a whole life is saved. π

My name is Ayaa from Gaza city, I am Β a childrenβs teacher, 24 years old, living with my parents and siblings. We all used to live a peacefu
I hope you are doing well. It has been more than two years since the genocide, as you know. I once had a previous donation link, but GoFundMe deleted it.
Now is the time we need your support the most. The war may have ended, but the tragedy has not. Prices are still very high, and winter is approaching. There are many difficulties and risks β such as the worn-out tents and other hardships.
We are all in need of your help and support.
If you cannot donate, please write posts about me and talk about my story. I have become part of this community and have lost many friends due to account closures. I also face a lot of criticism for using translation tools or accusations of being a scammer.Iwant to draw attention to the fact that English is not my first language, and I always need help to communicate better with you.
In fact, our tents are worn out and not ready for the winter, as we were bombed three times during the ongoing war. Iβve attached below several photos showing the shrapnel that fell on us and caused the tents to tear apart.
Right now, I need your support β at least to provide tents for the winter so that we donβt face difficulties when it rains.
