I've been reading through your opinions on Chara, Undyne and Asgore and I agree. BUT I don't feel as though Asgore killed ANY of the fallen children. But he is inherently responsible for their deaths due to the order he made. He made that order I feel in hope that no other humans would ever appear. As Toriel says - he hides in hope that no other human ever falls down like a coward. And yet they do. And they are killed. And that, that is his fault. But he did not kill them with his own hands.
Yknow I was typing out a response, saying that I doubt that Asgore DIDN’T kill any of the children and if he didn’t, it makes his guilt less meaningful in regards to his characterization......
But I started thinking about it and I guess there’s no real evidence that any other children made it close to the castle. If I’m remembering correctly the last gear you can pick up is the apron/frypan, lying around in Hotland. The cook child got the furthest, as Gunkid’s hat and gun were specifically found in the dump zone by Catty and Bratty. That would imply that Cookkid was killed in Hotland and not any further.
So I guess you’re right and it’s very likely that Asgore never directly killed a child himself. Until Frisk, of course, should you die to him.
