As each of us play along

We found a deep love

A trust we could depend on

In knowing our loneliness will never stay long

And me for you

In poetry that never stops

And will always speak it’s truth

There was a Christmas

The one I felt you

You found me here

Timid and waiting for you

Your hug greeted my soul

I knew I was no longer alone

My soul had found its equal

No longer must I search

I had found my home

Naughtiness overload

Maybe it’s the fact that it’s been pent up for so long

That my heart couldn’t sing it’s naughty song

That my needs were mocked and not met

Is that it?

Maybe...

I forget

What I remember is that this is always who I have been

Acknowledged or not, my naughtiness has always lived within

Buried deep

Underneath my smile

Hidden in every outfit

Behind each pose for a camera

Waiting to be drawn out

There is an immense freedom in becoming who you were meant to be

I’m letting the naughty bloom

When it has until now remained unseen

You granted my heart wings.

You give my words confidence to fly, across the sea and against the sky.

From my heart directly to you.

You gave me the power to write again, your advice and kind words coaxed my voice back in.

For this, and for so much more

These words will be true. Now and forever, I write for you.

Instead of rest, I must write

For better or worse

Perhaps words that should remain unheard

I feel his pull

As he calls my name across the sea

I can not ignore his need for me

As I yearn to be heard

As I cry to be understood

He is waiting for me

With a shadow flower

As our nightingale sings

He smiles at me

And grants me my wings

This year

It was scary

It was full of transition

Brought much needed separation

Has lead to the purest of growth

Full of a pain that was necessary to feel

It brought us together

It tore us apart

It allowed us to search our own pure hearts

What will remain?

What will we carry into the next year anew?

Songs of joy

Poetry of renewal; free from fear

This year was scary

I’m glad we made it through

For all the years to come

I’ll love them for me, and for you
