"Hello New Friend"
Ghost has a friend!! This new friends name is Soot! A Mewtwo who is permanently stuck in his Megga X form!
Under cut is plain picture of Soot
Have you ever drawn Ash and Indigo's hypothetical megas? It'd be interesting to see the absol and lucario megas mixed in!
I have! Originals looked like this
Granted, this was before i opted to having their mega’s more flexible.
Peach can alternate between X and Y rather easily because she has the steadiest of IV’s with both her attack and Sp.Atk being even (though she can only touch and go with Y so far)
The boys are also similar, however, Ash and Indigo both favor Attack a bit more, but it doesnt mean they can’t go Y, it’s just harder for them to access it.
But here are there updated Mega’s!
I'm a back!
Nothing new yet. So here's all of graces forms.
Mega X Episode Review
(Breaking the norm to do an episode without a Recut chapter yet, but this has no spoilers)
What I liked
Animation is on point. Wily in particular is well drawn with a range of emotions we don’t usually see on his face. The story is slightly more serious than the usual Ruby-Spears Mega Man cartoon without being toooo dark. It seems like the animators and writers were really to make this episode shine.
I like Vile and Spark Mandrill in this (though I don’t know how they’re supposed to be in the original games). They had cool voices, were drawn well, and it was refreshing to have some villains do something other than puns and cringey one-liners all the time.
Weak points
I hear X is super out-of-character. I guess they were going for the hardened time-traveling old guy trope? For what its worth, Mega Man and X have a nice comrade. X is kinda like Mega Man’s dad here I guess.
While the relative seriousness overall did the episode well, it did occasionally border on that that gun-toting, hard-boiled, tough-as-nails, ultra-edgy vibe that comics sometimes fall into when trying to appeal to audiences in ‘’Merica’, but I guess that just comes with the territory when your main hero is drawn with a defined four pack fully visible at all time (and I thought the muscles on the regular cast were a little much!) Maybe I’m nitpicking, but here’s sample dialogue exchange from the episode:
X: Take your choice, Vile, I can bring you back in one piece or a pile of circuits, doesn’t matter to me!
Vile: Actions speak louder than words, X!
Fine in bits, but grating if in large doses?
Then again it’s followed up with:
Cut Man: I think our future friend needs a little old fashioned help!
Random Thought
Dr. Light’s plasma power plant has looney-toon style defenses (which not gunna lie I love. Watching these giant silos use giant robot arm grabby things to beat back Wily’s skull jets put a smile on face this last watch through) It appears things like giant robot claws or mallets (ala Robo-Spider) are very effective against getting rid of skull tank/jet infestations.
Missed Opportunities
This is a little tricky for me as I’m not super familiar with the Mega Man X universe to know where this crossover may have been lacking. I suppose fans of the X series would have liked to see Zero? The rumor always was that a Mega Man X cartoon was planned as a spinoff, so perhaps this would have been the edgier grittier younger brother to the goofy dork ass show that we got. Ah well. Would be up to the X fans though to say whether this was a true loss or not!
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Ough baby Soots back scar too,,, I can only assume that might be why he's permamega from experiments..
Yup! The scar on Soot's back is the reason he's permanently a Mega! When he was just a baby his health suddenly began to rapidly decline frightening the scientists who were creating him for money so theu took the risk and inserted a Mega X orb into him... Now he's permanently a Mega, if the stone is removed he will most likely pass away within a day as his body desperately depends on the stone! ^^
(the scientists once they saw how positively Soot reacted to the Mega orb also began running some pretty horrible tests on him to see how much he could handle..)
