I’m guessing most do? I’m a couple episodes behind, but have been very annoyed by her complete absence so far in the second half of UBW.

I don’t know how much you know about the original VN; I’m assuming you’re not familiar with it, but are familiar with Fate/Zero--

In the original VN, Sakura’s presence is deliberately reduced throughout the first two routes to make it more of a shocking twist when she becomes important in Heaven’s Feel, the third route of the VN. This made a certain amount of frustrating sense there, but there’s really no excuse for ufotable to not do something with her in their adaptation of UBW, since they’re assuming viewers have watched Fate/Zero. After all, they’ve been plenty willing to make changes to the source material to include more Saber and Archer stuff, and to push the idea of Rin being purely in love with Shirou instead of having more complicated motivations.

Fandom in general is appalling in its treatment of Sakura. I can generally dismiss the disgusting fanboys who deride her as a slut on the basis that they’re worthless wastes of oxygen, but I get more uncomfortable around otherwise intelligent fans who complain that she’s “too tragic” and “doesn’t stand up for herself,” because that shows a really upsetting lack of understanding of the way long-term abuse affects human beings.

At least the adultery wasn't portrayed as romantic true forbidden love? (Though I am glad I had read an interview with Shonda where she talked about it before starting the show.)

I think, maybe I wouldn't have been put off if I knew about it in advance, but really, I should also know better since this was Shonda show, she's bound to have adultery plot in here somewhere. 

Also knowing Shonda, I get the feeling the Detective is going to be the true love interest in the show.
