[SPOILERS for Hades the game]
The Meg - Zag - Than love triangle is overrated. I want to see Persephone - Nyx - Hades story line.
In my imagination Persephone, Nyx and Hades live in a polyamorous relationship. As I got to the part when Persephone agrees to come back to the Underworld, she mentions missing, among others, Nyx and her young sons. She follows this with “It was all very odd, but…” and get interrupted by Zag. I got really excited that this might be hinting at some kind of confusion on the side of Persephone, but I’ve read it rather as a “how should I explain it to you, my son” than a “I didn’t feel comfortable about that situation” kind of confusion.
Cuz, I mean, would this make sense? In the context of the Greek mythology in general and of the way this game embraces all different kinds of it while presenting a rather inclusive reading of it?
On the other hand, there is no picture of Nyx in Hades’s bed chambers. Only one of Persephone. And Nyx doesn’t make it into the family painting there. So I guess I read a bit too much into this story. Well…
