Ferdinand was supposed to head to Hogsmeade with some other fourth-year Slytherins and was hurrying down to meet them, so as not to be late. He'd had to drop by the library first to return an overdue, and was running too fast down the stairs. As he reached the Entrance Hall he nearly collided with a small blonde girl at the foot of the staircase.
