If Mei is the one confessing to you, she’s not gonna sugarcoat it. I don’t take her as the type to really be pining for a long time and build up courage to ask you out, it’s likely she gives it like a week or two of thought to see if the feelings are still there, and then she asks you out. If you are asking her out though, expect A LOT of teasing from her before she does actually accept your offer! With how long she went on you thought she’d reject.
But as it turns out, she can’t take what she dishes out… Cecil and Lowell will tease her RELENTLESSLY because of how she gossiped about her director’s relationship with Xiao. On the upside, she and Lowell are patiently waiting for the day Cecil finds someone special :)
When it comes to your date, Mei isn’t gonna go all out but she’s definitely gonna be really extra about it. It will be fancy no doubt, I’m pretty sure a Grade 3 Fixer would be able to treat you somewhat!
If the date goes well, you two are probably going through a second and a third one before you actually get together - probably won’t be anywhere near as fancy as the previous two - she’s still got a budget. You two are only becoming official if those two go well.
In a relationship she definitely enjoys teasing you, no doubt. She will playfully make fun of you and embarrass you, and in front of your friends it only gets worse. You can absolutely do the same to her in front of her colleagues to start a little war that would last a long, long time…
Besides that she’s pretty energetic and high maintenance, I’d say. You’ll have to take care of her and make sure she doesn’t get into trouble, essentially keeping her on a leash.
She is VERY loving however, and quite physical. She clings to you and loves to suggest ideas as to what you two could do together that day, a lot of them are rather cliché, you just know it’s only a matter of time before she slides over to you on one knee with a rose in her mouth asking you to dance.
Overall this girl is exhausting… short people, am I right? Mei is very much keeping the relationship alive or atleast trying to, and her liveliness is really unlike anything you’ll ever see in The City - you swear she’s more energetic than some children. Even if she does suck all the energy out of you like some kind of vampire, you do still love her, and she definitely makes it apparent she cares for you!
