just a little ramble

everyday i think of how dr mei held her hand out to su while dying, seeking his comfort and stability in her final moments. wanting to feel his touch one last time, dropping her professionalism and more stoic nature to be vulnerable with one she loved.. su being with her until her final breath. She entrusts kevin to su, trusting him with someone she deemed so important to her. She believes in su, trusts him and cares for him. she lets herself be known to him, and knows him in return.

in kevin’s final moments, su is watching him. he doesn’t know this, he watches him and kiana’s little baseball fight. he sees kevin find peace in surrendering and accepting his defeat. he sees kevin bond with someone that shares the very same blood as him. he sheds his skin for a brief moment before his death, letting his true self peek through. Su sees this all, and all the times he was by kevin’s side fighting to see his vulnerable moments as well.

second key ends with the death of su’s physical body. he was alone, unsure and still accepting. he knew his time was up. nobody was there. nobody could’ve held su’s hand, or comforted him. he took it on by himself. which i feel like he does often. i feel as if su’s vulnerability is a key part of his character, but also not shown to anybody at the same time. he’s like a paradox. su always takes care of others, in return they only know most of him. it’s in his nature. nobody saw su in his most vulnerable moment like he did theirs.
