kido: looks up into the sky. kido’s so blatantly trans. they’re nonbinary to me. i think they’d be interested in starting T but from what i’ve read HRT is sooo. difficult in japan. definitely not impossible but boy it’s so difficult. and VERY expensive.
if what i read is correct, you’re required to have top AND bottom surgery in order to change your gender legally and get access to hrt. which sounds very contradictory too i read some stuff and again it’s definitely not impossible and a lot of people are on hrt consistently. insurance covers nearly Nothing so it’s expensive as hell. so hand in hand with my Financial headcanons, i don’t think kido’s doing hrt. also kido isn’t transmasc, they’re nonbinary, so they aren’t into some of the changes that come with being on t. so while they do consider it a lot, i don’t think they’d go through all this bureaucratic process over something they aren’t sure about. so i don’t think they’d go on t. at least not current kagefuture moments (kido’s young, they’re only 27 lel)
i DO think they’re saving up crazy style to get top surgery. it’s possible to get in japan but a lot of trans ppl go to thailand for it because it’s cheaper, even with flight costs. i think momo offers to pay for it constantly, but kido’s adamant they will pay for it on their own. momo totally wants to get married in thailand too. japan L again. but that also is sooo complex like Oof. these 2 won’t be married for a while

now. she’s trans. and she goes FULLY GIRL for the weekend in kashiwa. that's how she comes out to hibiya. she tells him she’s hiyori now, as long as they're in kashiwa. then boom 10 year timeloop. tbh. she’s been a girl for 10 years by the time she gets home and has to get back to Boy Life. hiyori’s generally miserable because her parents for sure suck i mean ayaka RAN AWAY. but especially because she's in the closet!! so she does everything in her power to be able to leave the village for highschool. by then ayano’s doing her social work studies i think ayano helps her out SO MUCH with being able to go to school as a girl, but she's still not out to her parents. i think hiyori having long hair is her biggest problem back at home her parents are on her ASS about it.
when she graduates she stays in kashiwa for college. parents still send her money. hiyori drop out era because she’s AWESOME. parents DON’T KNOW she dropped out from college lmao also she was majoring in something they didn’t even want her to major in, they insisted on business school so she could take over the company but she fought them ‘til the end. then drops out anyway LMAO and all the money they send her for college stuff, she spends on HRT. YAAAAAAAY. hiyori gets the most expensive hrt and consistently does monotherapy. she hasn’t gone back home in uh. VERY VERY LONG. she’d never say it out loud but she’s terrified of going back and facing her parents.
because i’m a little obsessed with kano and hiyori being co-workers and unlikely friends. a oneshot fanfic i’m workshopping in my mind [set kagefuture moments] is kind of hiyori hitting rock bottom on this and asking kano [AGAINST HER BETTER JUDGEMENT AND GRITTED TEETH] if he could pretend to be Boy Her That’s Totally Going To College and go see her parents. i.e his grandparents he’s never met, technically. it would of course escalate into an argument, because kano would literally just laugh. and tell her she can’t run away from this forever (also deceiving eyes explanations, he technically/maybe wouldn’t be able to do that bc he’s never met her as a boy.)
