Holidays Part 2-The Day of Pyres

August 18, the Anniversary of the Massacre

Similar to the Mourning of Aristodemos, this day is a day of mourning the Mekahumans, Mekahuman Descendents, and Mekahuman Granddescendents who were murdered in the Massacre.

Since these three species were the protectors of the magical community, their deaths are honored by most species as a testament to what their entire community almost lost.

A burial pyre is lit for each person who died, and each pyre is assigned a person.

People will often leave gifts at the pyres of a specific person, and the gifts are burned when the pyre is.

It is considered a day of great sorrow; thus, most people wear grays.

It is considered rude to speak on this day unless you are paying respect to someone or asking their spirit for protection.
