This comic is based, almost verbatim, on a text message exchange I had with Melanie Gillman about our plans to table at SPX together again this year.
Not included is a longer exchange where we planned to mail the lottery committee a Daft Punk cassette tape full of glitter (to listen to during the drawing), and a ransom note informing them that we're holding all of their favorite cats hostage and we demand a full table, all of the tables, every table, especially the ones in the lobby with the tiny cheesecakes, as well as the chocolate fountain (only we wouldn't actually kidnap cats. I don't think). Also this exchange was entirely in CAPS LOCK.

So today I got home after another long battle at the DMV, and what should I find waiting for me but a package from one Melanie Gillman, former CCS classmate and super awesome comic artist and human being (she also has a tumblr you should check out). What was inside, you ask? THIS PICTURE WAS INSIDE, I ANSWER. Also a really nice letter about how she's doing and how cool her new job is and how a lot of her new roommates are snuggly cats, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY THIS PICTURE!
This is the first fan art I've ever gotten for ANYTHING! I love it. And I'm totally losing my shit over it, haha! Also, Melanie, sorry I didn't ask for permission to post it before going ahead and, well, posting it, but it's mine now and I want to show it to the whole world and make them SO JEALOUS.
