Relating to the last ask you answered: your art actually made me ship Gerlion! I used to never understand ships that paired Geralt with another man because my fav ship is still him and Yen but your drawings made something in my mind go "/ooooh!/" (The same happened to me with Geralt and Eskel too thanks to another artists you guys are too powerful)
I get why ppl ship Geralt and Yen (tho I don’t like it it’s canon after all, also big time in Witcher 3), but I still don’t understand how it’s possible so few ppl ship gerlion (it’s all over the books srsly). So, anyway I’m excited to hear you got into the ship through my fanart! (and into other ships through other fanart), I can feel the power rising inside me...
My dearest @melasaik was my giftee this year for the Witcher Secret Santa, and while I am late in posting her gift, I do indeed have the first of a few ficlets ready for her!
This ficlet is Geralt x Yennefer. The premise is the night before the fight against the Wild Hunt at Kaer Morhen.
Again, I would like to apologize for being late, but with the things that have happened in my personal life as of late, I do hope to be forgiven, and can’t wait for next year’s Secret Santa :)
As I said, there are definitely more ficlets coming both because I wanted to write for all of her favorite pairings, and because I feel the need to apologize for my tardiness, even if it is not necessary to do so.
I hope you all enjoy my ficlet, but especially you Mela!
P.s: How fitting is it that my 1,000th post is my Secret Santa gift??
Geralt stood on the balcony overlooking the courtyard of Kaer Morhen, gripping the banister as he gazed up at the night sky, watching the clouds as they passed by overhead. As he stood there, contemplating the following morning, he felt a pair of slender arms wrap around his stomach, hands placed to his chest. He brought his hands up to cover Yen’s, running his thumb across her knuckles.
“What are you still doing awake, my love?” She questioned, cheek pressed to his back.
“Can’t sleep…” Geralt sighed, bringing her hand up to place a kiss to her palm. “Too much to think about… To plan.”
“I know, my love… I’ve felt almost every thought for the past hour.” She chuckled before placing a kiss to his shoulder.
“I’m sorry.” He breathed, twisting in her embrace to face her, gently cupping her cheeks in his hands as he leaned in to kiss her.
She smiled into the kiss, and when they pulled apart a moment later, she gently tapped his chin with her index finger with a small smile tugging at her lips.
“Come back to bed, my darling.” She hummed, palms once more pressed to his chest. “It’s late, and the bed is far too lonely without you in it.”
“I’m worried, Yen.” He began, leaning against the banister as he placed his hands over hers. She leaned against him, gently pushing his arms aside so that she could rest her head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around her and held her close; one hand tangled in her ebony locks, the other pressed against the small of her back.
“Geralt, you need sleep…” She whispered, her breath ghosting over his skin as she listened to the gentle drumming of his heart.
“I need to protect you and Ciri more… Sleep can wait.” He replied as he gently tucked her head beneath his chin.
“Absolutely not, Geralt.” She reprimanded, pulling her head from his chest and gazing up into his eyes. “You are not going to forego sleep. I won’t allow it.” She huffed, gaze focused on his. Her eyes softened a moment later with a soft sigh. She reached up to brush his hair back from his face, her fingers tender as she moved. “You can’t fight without sleep, my love. Please… Come back to bed.”
“Yen…” She turned her gaze back to him, eyes focused on his, a fine eyebrow arched in question as she looked at him. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. “Are you… Afraid?” He asked, voice trembling just slightly as he held her.
She didn’t respond right away, instead mulling over his question thoughtfully. He watched her expression shift just slightly as she thought, and eventually brought his hand up to brush his fingers against her cheek, bringing her attention back to him. He leaned down and kissed her forehead, trailing down to place a soft peck on her lips.
“Yes… I am…” She whispered, gaze cast down to the scars on his chest.
“I am too…” He whispered in return, snapping her attention back to him. He gave her a half-smile, watching the confusion on her face. “I am… I couldn’t live without you or Ciri… I don’t want anything to happen to either of you.”
“Nor do I…” She replied, cupping his cheeks in her hands. “You two are my entire world. I wouldn’t be able to continue on if either of you weren’t there with me.”
He pulled her close, cradling her head against his chest as he felt the stray tears fall against his skin. He gently rocked her side-to-side, placing soft kisses to her temple and the top of her head; his nose buried in her curled locks.
“I’ll never leave you, Yen.” He breathed, tilting her head up to meet his gaze. “I promise you that.” He leaned in and captured her lips in a soft, tender kiss as he brought his hands to rest on her hips.
When they pulled apart moments later, she cuddled up against him once more, tucking her head beneath his chin and listening to the soft thumping of his heart.
“I’ll hold you to that, Witcher.” She hummed, her fingers lightly drumming against his skin while a small smile pulled at her lips.
A cool breeze passed by them, and she shivered at its contact on her skin. Geralt wrapped his arms tighter around her, attempting to both shield and warm her at the same time.
“Come on… Let’s get some sleep.” He whispered, leading her back into the bedroom and back beneath the quilts on the bed. She, of course, tried to protest that she was fine, but he merely nodded in affirmation before curling in beside her on the mattress and pulling her to his chest.
“Geralt, really, I’m fine.” She huffed, squirming a bit to free her arms from his embrace.
“I don’t doubt that.” He replied, kissing her shoulder as he held a little tighter to her waist. “I know how strong and self-sufficient you are, Yen… But I still want to help you whenever I can. Take care of you whenever I can.”
She stopped squirming and managed to turn her head enough to catch a glimpse of his eyes, watching as they shimmered in the darkness. She chuckled, managing to twist in his embrace to face him, her hand coming to rest on his cheek as she brushed her thumb against his jaw.
“You never cease to amaze me, Geralt…” She breathed, placing a kiss to his lips, which was happily returned. They pulled apart a moment later and allowed the silence of the room to blanket them.
“We have a hard day ahead of us…” Geralt sighed, his face buried against her hair. She gently traced her fingers down his arm, bringing her palm to rest on his chest.
“Yes… We certainly do, don’t we…” She replied, a tinge of fear in her voice. Geralt held her tighter in his arms.
“We’ll get through this… As a family.” Geralt whispered as he rubbed small circles on Yen’s back, calming her back down. She nuzzled her face against his chest, a soft sigh passing from her lips.
“We will. As a family.” She confirmed, confidence blooming in her voice once more.
“Let’s get some sleep.” Geralt mumbled, already beginning to succumb to the gentle tide of slumber.
Yen chuckled in response, cuddling up against him as she, too, allowed sleep to gently pull her beneath the waves of consciousness as well. They had a hard battle ahead of them. May as well enjoy the few precious hours that they had together before the world would cease to exist until the fight ended.
For the writing prompt thing: 25 and Yennefer! :>

Not to be that person aber der Esperanto Post ist eigentlich über Europanto, welche eigentlich nur als Witz von einem EU Übersetzer erfunden wurde (Esperanto ist leider nicht so einfach zu verstehen)

melasaik replied to your post “no offence but geralt is the ugliest thing alive in the witcher 2”
diseased swamp man I am crying of laughter but you're so right, worst is that crazy ponytail tbh?? hair doesn't work that way??? that ponytail defies gravity
i didn’t even have the mental space to process the ponytail yet... i’m still stuck on how he looks with that hood on & i’m literally forced to concentrate on the atrocity that is his face
rectoressrita:
thank u somebody said it
i had to
levowgt:
In the witcher 2 he finally lools like a real man. Not like in TW1
i have to fight you on calling that “a real man” but I get where you’re coming from. it’s just that the other men in tw2 look... so much better? he really sticks out
I hope you're still doing these witcher decision things because I was wondering how you handled the Precious Cargo quest in white orchard. Did you tell the nilfgaardians about the guy, let him go or let him go but kept the medicine? :)
Thanks for the ask! Yes, I am still doing them, I just haven’t gotten any more requests. :)
Witcher Decisions: Precious Cargo
This is another quest that I quite like because it offers a difficult choice. I don’t really think that there is a right or wrong choice for this quest. Both options aren’t very happy. Firstly, I always call him out on his lie and then chase him. I think after that, I prefer the option of letting him take the medicine. It is revealed that the “merchant” he killed in the swamp was a Nilfgaardian soldier so it isn’t like he killed an innocent man. I don’t like that he lied to me and tried to run but I prefer Temeria over Nilfgaard so I will usually choose his side although I don’t hate turning him in.
melasaik replied to your post “i saw some gifs of supermanwitcher and wow, is even worse than i...”
God I love that you're saying your honest opinion about the show like that...I partially am excited about the show but I also feel very bitter about the casting and I see so many people excited about the casting that I kinda started feeling bad about disliking it and you make feel ok about it
You know in a certain way I’m looking forward to it also bc hey it’s a witcher tv series! And so far I can believe it’s gonna be a good fantasy series (I hope!). And as my wonderful gf said: it’s just an adaptation, canon is always there, remember that.
I just wish that one day I get an adaptation where the actors resemble the characters more and where Jaskier is as important to Geralt as he is in the books. I still don’t get who told poor Cavill to muscle up this way?! He’s just so huuuge ToT the only thing I wanted bigger was Anya’s hair. And god I might be shallow but I just don’t find Joey B attractive at all T-T and what the f*cking f*ck is that nilfgardian armour???? why are u torturing me ppl??
So yeah, we all have our reasons to be bitter/excited. I say as long as you/me aren’t extremely and explicitely hateful towards the creators/crue/actros/ect. then it’s ok to dislike and disagree. In the end I just blame Sapkowski :D he may have written a beautiful saga but he’s a huge bitch and that’s true.
