With the intention of enjoying the beginning of her afternoon at the Rose St. Artists' Market, Pippa knew she’d ended up focusing on everything all at once, craving to buy something from each artist who was here. From books, to artworks and even fashion items. Now she had her hands in two lps before she directed her words to the person next to her. “Help me out. Deep Purple or Led Zeppelin? I’d buy themboth, but I’ve just seen a beautiful piece of art that would look great in my room, so now I need to make this important choice. Or, I could show you the artwork and you could tell me if it’s worth to buy it or to ignore that and simply go for these two amazing vinyls?”

“...And that’s how I accidentally shaved my arm hair”, Devon laughed as the customer walked away with their order. They walked outside of the truck to check on the containers filled with agua fresca, serving themselves a glass of jamaica, “honestly, when is this awful heat going away?”

“--And now, all we have to do is hope for the weather to continue like this... I mean, can you imagine if all of the sudden it starts raining?”

From his view, Tony was sure he ended up on top when it came to the race. However, if one is being technical the woman he learned was Alice won the race and the ultimate victory of shaming him and getting the victory beer they agreed upon.  Apparently she won by quite the distance since Tony did not pass the line until moments after her.  Sadly, the two had to part ways before he could buy her that bottle of amber deliciousness at the event, so he asked to postpone the humiliation for another time and luckily for him…well her since she was the one getting the free drink, she agreed to meet up at a bar later that week.

Per usual, Tony arrived a few minutes later after the agreed upon time. At first, he did not see her and he figured she either forgot about the beer or did not find it necessary to show up for one free drink.  But as he made his way towards the bar, he quickly noticed the brunette and he slid up next to her.  “And for a moment I thought you might have forgotten about the beer.”  He said with a smile as he sat on the stool next to hers. “Since I had to dash right after the race, am I in for a brutal humiliation?”  He asked before looking up at the bartender and lifting two fingers up to indicate he needed two beers.  “Anyway, I am ready.  To quote Pat Benatar, hit me with your best shot.”

“ i’m not sure what possessed you to do that, ” amaya said, eyes wide. the well dressed, entirely too privileged man had been bothering everyone in the cafe with his loud phone conversation and utter disregard for everyone else. he was the epitome of the absolute worst sort of customer. so when someone had taken the opportunity to ‘ accidentally ’ spill their coffee on him...the lawyer couldn’t say she was displeased. the man had left in a frenzy, yelling ‘ do you know who i am ’ and ‘ i’ll sue you ’ and all sorts of other nonsense. “ but he certainly deserved it. i’d happily represent you if he actually does try and press charges. ”

Henry stood in front of the food truck while waiting for his order, and while he knew that some people disliked small talk, it was an habit that he caught from his father. It was inevitable of him to engage in any sort of conversation to fill up silence. “I’ve been told I wouldn’t be disappointed with this truck and since I have no intentions of going through the other activities, I’ll leave them to my daughter... eating shall be my favorite one. If you have any tips about some other food truck I should head to, let me know.”

Cassie was getting really fed up with the guy who wouldn’t take no for an answer. He was constantly hitting on her, asking for her number, and even following her around the bar as she tried to maneuver her way around to find a familiar face or anything to get him to back off. Right now she was sitting at the bar and he had unfortunately found her again. After what seemed like endless sleazy pickup lines and name dropping sent her way she got fed up and linked her arm with the person next to her. “Look, shithead, this is the love of my life and I really don’t think they would appreciate their girlfriend being hit on in front of them so go away,” she said hoping that the person beside her would play along.

Arthur pulled out his glasses to rub his hand over his face. Not only the sun was punishing him with its intensity, but also, he hadn’t had much sleep the night before due to some work emergencies, but he had promised his younger brother that he’d come and so here he was. As he waited in line to order at Devon’s truck he noticed a familiar face and raised his hand as small, awkward wave--typically him.

“I don’t know why I always expect these places to be less crowded than they actually are--” He spoke, mostly thinking out loud, but loud enough for someone else to hear.
