Caitlyn resists the urge to check the watch on her wrist. She checked it not two minutes ago. She knows this. She’s also not sure what this says about the party if it’s taking him fifteen minutes to get two fresh drinks. She tries her very best to not sigh into the glass. It would be unbecoming, she can hear the words threaded through with laughter. Even if we are having an absolutely horrid time, Caitlyn, we mustn’t let random strangers know. Caitlyn takes a long, slow breath, takes stock of her situation, alone again, and remembers now why she never quite liked parties before Mel.

Untitled Puppy Play fic

"No, no," Mel scolds. She peers down at her through hazel eyes brightened with interest as she places a finger to Caitlyn's lips and says, "Puppies don't speak." Caitlyn drags her tongue along the length of her finger. "Yes, Ms. Medarda." She then takes Mel's entire finger into her mouth. "On second thought, maybe I'll make an exception." Caitlyn bites the tip, and Mel's tone turns admonishing. The chain attached to Caitlyn's collar rattles between them when she yanks a little. "Now, now, you mustn't ruin my manicure." Caitlyn releases her. Her smile is roguish as she says, "You like when I call you that now." Mel frowns. "I'm already regretting my decision." Caitlyn smiles in amusement but refrains from saying another word.

Is her kind updating soon?

Hey Anon 👋🏻

Yes, Her Kind will be updated in the new year. I’m still working on the next chapter (the second out of three parts of Vel’s first Interlude) but I work in retail, and as you can imagine the holiday season is hectic and exhausting. Her Kind is my baby and I want to give it 100% of my attention, so I haven’t been giving it too much focus this month. But it’s 100% getting updated in January. I’ve been sketching out and drafting lots of future scenes for it too, so don’t worry, it will be finished eventually. But stick with me because the slow burn is burning 🔥 Vel’s next part is already at 20k and growing!

I’ve also got a couple of other VelKleya fics in the works:

1. Kleya’s companion piece to To the beat of our noisy hearts — a retelling of those events from her perspective. — expecting this to be around 10-15k

2. What if Vel and Kleya went to Scarif instead of Jyn and Cassian. — going to try my hardest to keep this under 5k

And then I also have some Arcane WIPs that I’m going to go back to once Her Kind is done:

1. A Star Wars AU — Jedi Cait and Sith Vi force bond — already at 25k — Jedi Master Grayson and Jedi knight Kiramman are sent to Noxus to help Queen Mel soothe tensions between her and Silco…

2. My MelCait fic — Vi dies along with Jinx in the final battle and Mel and Cait are left to deal with the aftermath and their respective grief. Told from Mel’s perspective—FWB falling in love and Mel working to uncover more of the Black Rose mystery Ambessa left behind (I’m incorporating some info from the Ambessa novel) — this is already at around 50k. I just need to go back to it and I really want to give it the time it deserves. And I probably need to do an Arcane rewatch to refresh my memory! This will be 100% completed before it’s ever posted because it’s written solely for me and I know how vocal/toxic the Arcane fandom is when they don’t like something.

I have a couple of other CaitVi ones but I’m debating scrapping them. Who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

They do their best to win her over in increasingly extravagant ways, leaving Mel conflicted with her heart torn…but in the end, they decide to make a rather untraditional arrangement work (they’re a throple). 🩷
