melissa lim & noel kinda insane for living a real-life book trope angst cuz wdym she literally saved his life & career but he acts like he doesn't remember a single thing about her yet decades later he's crying every time he sings the song he wrote about her? woah.
I may be late on this but did we all see Melissa Lim’s IG stories, that she went to the LA show ?? Loved to see that.
LOVE to see the Savior of Oasis putting in an appearance, we bow to our queen!!
my favorite part of oasis lore is that melissa lim who noel wrote talk tonight about is the reason the album is called wtsmg
she would apparently always say that first when he called, and i think that’s really cute
Noel on Talk Tonight: Snapple!
Strawberry lemonade - I was with this girl at the time that only drank strawberry lemonade snapple. The song Talk Tonight is quite an autobiographical tale of a weekend I spent with her in San Franciso. I got a great song out of it that I'll be playing on tour!
(What's The Story) Morning Glory? Oasis - 1994 Cassette Tape
I've been listening to this on repeat today, masterpiece.
Talk Tonight (B-side of "Some Might Say". Noel's account of his notorious Vegas-to-'Frisco-with-all-the-drugs AWOL experience during Oasis' first American tour. Famously loathed by Liam.) "It's a true story, really. Liam fucking hated it at first, and I remember him saying in an interview that I was singing it with an American accent. Which just shows you how strung out on drugs he was at the time. I went to San Francisco, 'cos I'd left the band at that point and I was, well, I don't know what I was doing. I was just off me fucking head. And I met this chick and she sorted me head out, really. Actually, she ended up grassing me up to the record company, 'cos they were all looking for me, so she told them where I was and they came to get me!" "Then we recorded it in fucking Texas of all places. Two takes. The bits I like are where I take me watch off at the beginning and start coughing - it sounds really honest. It's quite a sad song but it's quite uplifting as well."
