Yo, while I have been dead (and probably will so remain for a while yet), I have realized I also need to keep my channel alive! So, recently I was just messing around and voicing some of my characters and was hit with the fact that I had the perfect thing to do for my channel! Character voices/interviews and introductions! ========== So yeah, got hit with a couple ideas, started to record 'em, realized that they could be used, and actively worked on some. Don't have much besides voices but should be able to get a good bit soon due to the minimal stop-motion these'll need, but kinda figured I wouldn't mind some criticism/feedback/spreading of the fact. So, mind giving some thoughts or at least a listen to one of 'em? ========== Mellex

Kore - Silver claw ‘minion’
So as you may remember I made a small group of MOC’s I called ‘minions’ for Mellex, my Makuta/main villain. If you do remember them than you may also remember me mentioning that their ‘perfection’ (in terms of stability, intelligence, strength, subservience, etc, etc)/specimen label is dependent on the colour of their claws.
The majority of minions he has continued ownership of are ‘gold-claws’ or beta/failed-specimens, ones that have potential subservience issues and defects, ranging from from physical to mental effects. Cannon fodder in basic. They’re the ones that the other Makuta don’t want and so leave to him to provide at least some protection for his ‘incompetent’ self.
Due to that he has control over very few Silver claws, and those he does have... issues that make it so other Makuta would rather not risking using them.
===============
Kore is a sliver claw (though he despises the title), an ‘Alpha’-specimen of the ‘minion’ species Mellex created to serve as his army (though that was quickly changed by the other, higher ranking Makuta).
The difference between a Silver-claw minion and a Gold-claw minion is very noticeable.
While a Gold-claw minion can possibly stand its ground against the averge Toa, and can potentially overpower small Toa teams when grouped with other Gold-claw’s, a Silver-claw can usually take on, and have a very high chance of defeating a small Toa team on it’s own.
From increased strength, intelligence and a possibility of odd abilities, Silver-claw’s greatly outweigh nigh-all of their Golden clawed counterparts. But due to this it also makes them much rarer and harder to produce than a Gold-claw, even with the modifications and tests Mellex has attempted.
Kore himself is the first Silver-claw Mellex ever created, and also the most dangerous out of all of them. Not due to power, even though he does wield enough to fight a well-sized Toa team by himself, but due to his own intelligence.
He is on par with a Makuta on that term, from plans that can stretch centuries in design and follow through, to an understanding of how to best exploit any sighted weakness within an individual. He is in basic, a being that is near uncontrollable, and even that small amount Mellex wields may just be an illusion he allows for his own reasons.
Along with this is an ability he was gifted at creation, a possibility the Silver-claws have, ranging from natural mask powers, rahkshi abilities, and/or other odd powers that can only further increase their power and value.
Kore himself was gifted what could be considered the most powerful one seen as of yet, and the most dangerous.
He is immune to all abilities, from mask powers and Kanoka disks, to rahkshi abilities and Vhisorak spinners, none of them have an effect on him besides the physical impact the disks and spinners have, and the heat vision/similar abilities rahkshi abilities may provide.
From the invisibility of a Huna to a Pakari’s strength, none can work on him, or at least some can not work near him.
As discovered by Mellex’s experiments Kore has a sort of bubble around himself, a contained void which within mask powers cannot function, removing the effects of a Pakari, and allowing him to walk through a Hau, and from within mask-abilities cannot be perceived, removing the Huna’s illusion of invisibility
Of course this does nothing for physical attacks such as rocks telepathically thrown at him, nor purely elemental abilities such as causing a deluge above him, or directing a stream of fire towards him, just preventing one from creating such directly within his ‘bubble’ or affecting him directly with said abilities, from controlling him with magnetism to overheating his body from within.
So far it is believed his ability is so powerful he could even bypass a legendary masks powers. Unfortunately Mellex has yet to gain access to anything similar to test it.
His dangerous intelligence, insubordinate nature and his ability makes him a being no other Makuta is willing to risk commandeer, nor are they yet willing to remove him due to the usefulness he could provide.
Personality: Cruel, evil, plotting, intelligent, dangerous, these are all words to describe what the being known as Kore is like.
Abilities: Power void: No mask powers, rahskhi abilities, rhotuka spinners, Kanoka disks and related powers can work within a set area around him. Abilities that alter the perception of another and similar can also be seen through by those within the ‘bubble’ This also prevents elemental abilities from being generated in said area, preventing magnetic control, but they can be formed outside of it, and physical variants can be used by those within the bubble.
This does not affect objects physically propelled by a Matatu, the object still carrying its propelled force with the telekinesis removed, the teleportation of an Iruini’s sight based travel, and similar effects.
Other attributes: Kore has great intelligence and foresight, allowing him to set multiple traps/ambushes long in advance, and notice ways to exploit known/noticed ‘weaknesses of others.
He has highly increased speed and strength compared to even the average Toa. This allows him to easily over power most lone Toa, and even have high chances of winning against Well-sized Toa teams.
He is second in command to Mellex and wields great control over many of his ‘minions’ and hired mercenaries, mainly due to the fear he’s instilled in them.
Mellex bonus fact
Mellex is actually fully organic despite his ‘alliance’ with Teridax and the change all other Makuta were supposed to go through.
Along with that, he cannot access neither his own Makuta abilities, nor Kanohi abilities.
In basic Mellex has always been as insane, and subsequently evil as he is today. He’s basically one of those few glitches in Mata-Nui’s systems (which I think were semi-confirmed).
He’s always been... ‘twitchy’, paranoid and constantly believing others are attempting to ridicule and ‘weaken’ him some way or other, when ‘his’ island was assigned to him said notions only increased.
His island was a small one, densely jungled and with very few matoran inhabitants, this, combined with its distance from the more ‘important’ islands infuriated Mellex, driving him into a rage fueled want to show his superiority over the other Makuta.
A rage he took out on the Matoran and island itself.
At first, he acted normal, no odd reports from the observers checking in upon him, but upon their lessened appearances he changed.
He took to using the island as his own personal rahi lab, from modifying pre-existing ones, to creating new, most assuredly dangerous ones and unleashing both on the populace to see what effects they may have on the Matoran.
He was eventually caught when he created a rahi of great enough power he was forced to contact other Makuta to help deal with it.
After it was dealt with, and his actions discovered, he was brought back to Destral and put on a form of trial, the outcome, while not his death due to the current need of Makuta and Teridax yet to be in charge, it was the stripping of his powers, mask, and all else that could lessen his power, and thus danger.
This feat was accomplished through one of his own discoveries, a form of Visorak venom with slightly controllable mutations. It was used to bring him to his current form, mutating him into his current, semi-animalsitic form, cutting him off from his abilities, and fusing his mask to his face and the subsequent change of his jaw. Along with this, the mutations actually changed his body enough when the rest of the Makuta were changed into their gaseous, antidermis forms, he physically couldn’t, leaving him organic.
He was... ‘reassigned’ to his island, acting as a form of prison due to its lack of Matoran, many dead and the rest so mutated any sentience had most likely long died out, and the rahi he’d left, the ‘silent’ hope that they’d do him in another reason.
Unfortunately for them, he’d planned for similar enough a situation as this, all the other rahi either ‘tamed’ to not attack him, or to weak to hurt him even in his current form, and before his removal from Destral, even before his trial, he’d been pilfering samples of nigh-all of the viruses used for all current rahi.
Fortunately there was a limit to how many he could grow with the samples, and he couldn’t create more of the viruses with his current materials, and lack of abilities.
Unfortunately, he’d always enjoyed more hands-on work even when he could form the rahi virus codes, and he knew enough on how to use such to modify them for a form of reproduction system.
After that, he grew hundreds of rahi, and used thousands in his failed, and successful experiments.
From Tearing them apart, to sticking them together and creating chemicals in attempts to form working crossbreeds and artificial viruses from their living success’s, he did all, and he near perfected his skill at during the centuries he spent on his island.
In fact, he became so good at his work, and just how dangerous, complex, and ‘different’ the rahi were he could make, that he quite literally put himself in danger, form dozens, if not more, of rahi so powerful he could barely keep them under control, if he could at all, and quite a few of which even a Makuta would have trouble dealing with, much less a powerless one than himself.
Hell, if anything a good number of those species were naturally ‘crossbred’ without his prompting/work.
Luckily he’d thought up the possible future consequences of his ‘experiments’ and had worked to ensure none of them could ever naturally gain wings, or mentally comprehend, and physically be able to swim. Actions with both kept his island well contained, and his actions unnoticed by the other Makuta... until they were.
Over the years he’d had a few Matoran show up at his island, usually small adventure groups either he, or the rahi quickly dealt with, they’d stopped coming after a few tries. (Unbeknownst to him the Turaga of the islands that knew of his had declared it prohibited after the disappearances.) It was when another Makuta finally ‘checked up’ on his island (more like re-discovered after its, and his existences were basically forgotten), that trouble finally came for him.
His island was practically sealed off in an impenetrable dome, tech, abilities, and related all placed around it to double, if not quadruple, ensure none of these beings would be getting out, and Mellex, and a special... ‘pet’ of his, were torn from it, brought back to Destral for yet another trial. One which both highly enlightened him to important past events, such as Teridax’s takeover, and ended on a much more positive note than the last one, if an irritating one to Mellex.
While he was finally allowed (permanent) clearance from his island, his actions were placed under heavy surveillance, a Makuta always checking in on him and his experiments to ensure he wasn’t creating something to dangerous or attempting to interfere in important plans, no matter what land he wandered to, and many of his successful creations either taken from him, being left with mainly the scraps and failures, and/or falsely claimed to be designed by others, both demeaning to him, and further increasing his mental instability.
Makuta Mellex - The ‘Scientist’
Makuta Mellex is one of the more... incompetent makuta. Not because of his intelligence or skills, he has plenty of those, even more so of the former than most makuta, no he's considered incompetent because of his bodies physical frailty and his tendency to preform experiments.... dangerous to his, and other Makuta's, health. Oh sure, the benefits reaped are usually worth it but the consequences and dangers are still great enough that most, if not all of the Makuta, feel that he is quite incompetent for a Makuta, that they could do it without the risk basically, and it infuriates him.
It's even worse because, to put it simply, he is one of the most pompous and egotistical of them all, he quite literally believes himself to be above nigh-all of them with only Teridax as his rival, a rival he believes he will soon pass (as long as he can finally get his greatest experiment to work properly.)
He's always been one of the least stable of Makuta. The island he was 'assigned' to was picked specifically for its lack of sentient life, and a good choice that was. For even before Teridax's takeover, and the Makuta's subsequent draining of light, he was quite... cruel, evil in his own ways, he would tear unknown rahi apart just so as to know how they worked and then to rebuild them in a more 'efficient, perfected' form.
His island is one of the few prohibited islands. Made so just because of the danger if his 'creations' were to escape. It is populated with giants, mutants, uncontrollable beings (even for Mellex) that can rival even a Makuta's power, rahi designed to capture their 'prey' and to keep it alive for as long as possible, and his favourite, visorak, from one's of unknown powers and mutations to one's so changed and feral that their own kind avoid them in fear. Luckily Mellex had thought of the potential dangers and repercussions and had given all his 'creations' two fatal flaws, a physical lack of the ability to swim/breathe in water and a genetic lack to ever gain the ability, or function, to fly.
He is also the cause of the attack, and subsequent mutations, upon Dragos's village (not that either learned of that fact for quite a long time), having been testing out the control his favourite 'pet' (which will be made eventually) had over a few visorak swarms he had managed to find.
Personality: Mellex is, in simple, a pompous, egotistical, fool, even despite owning an intelligence that could rival many of the other Makuta, especially when it came to rahi creation (despite his many failures and... dangers whenever he made them).
He will never admit defeat and is always striving to be better than he is, to gain a position in his life, one of a Makuta greater than Teridax, that he will most likely never obtain.
He considers all other beings his test subjects, and if he can capture them he will do just so.
He is easily angered by insults to his intelligence, skills and competence. Of course dangers come with this, while he may commit some more foolish actions, have his reason blurred through anger, he may also choose to 'punish' the offender, performing purposefully more painful, dangerous and gruesome experiments upon them if he catches them, and he never forgets one who has insulted him.
Other attributes: He fights using his two favourite, and most used, scientific tools, two scalpels, so bloodstained they're practically infused with the pain they've caused and the blood they've spilt.
He is physically quite frail compared to most Makuta, sure, he can still easily overpower most lone toa, but against teams he has no chance, which is also why he usually fights through the use of his 'controllable' creations and hired mercenaries.
His lower arms are prosthetic, having to be replaced after being 'lost' in one of his more dangerous, if also most beneficial, experiments, which also was the one that created his favourite 'pet'.
