Sun’s eyes widened as they came into contact with Roman.
“I knew it.” He said quietly as Cinder skirted out of the room. He felt his body reach for her, as if a child crying for his mother to come back, save him from the man in front of her. The man he’d had fought many times with his love, and now?
He was forced to side with him. Forced to make friends and play nice so Cinder could have her way with him, play him like a puppet, uninhibited by something as stupid as a lost love and an old hatred.
Cinder wasn’t going to give him any choice in the matter either, seeing as she’d tied him to the bedpost before she’d left. His collar choked his neck as he tried to move away. But, alas, his arms were tied to the post behind him, prohibiting anything more than small footwork.
“I fucking knew it!” he screamed.
