What if you met a version of your father Dr Gears who genuinely cared and felt fully? A version of the Foundation that was better, especially morally?
How would you react?
Doctor Gears is a horrible man, as all Foundation staff of such a level are. I cannot imagine him, or that organization, in any other way.
No matter how “kind” they are, no matter how they treat those they imprison, their mission is inherently evil. The idea that there is some divide between the anomalous and the mundane, between normal and abnormal, is fascistic. “Normal” humans are no better than “anomalous” humans, who are no better than any other species of intelligent life. At the end of the day, they are fascistic. They think they have any domain over the universe, any hand in the decision of what is good and wrong.
The only “morally better” Foundation is a Foundation that does not exist.
The only “caring” “Dr. Gears” is a man who does not exist anymore
