Summary: Stiles grew up in the life of knowing that there was always more to life than what others saw with a first glance. Even as a child he saw things that no one else seemed to and always had a fascination with the unusual.

Some considered him an unusual child, but Claudia welcomed every single quirk her son displayed. His mother had a few special talents of her own and thrilled her to see it in her son as well. She’d raised Stiles to always keep his mind open and as grew and started to display his powers, she began to teach him how to use them. She even taught Stiles about werewolves at a young age, his infatuation with them growing once he had learned the truth about her closest friend.

Stiles spent nearly every possible moment that he could roaming the Hale house, following after the middle child most of the time. Derek was three years older than Stiles, but the bond they developed with each other was something their mothers considered out of a story book. Like Derek, Stiles was sensitive to his emotions, but unlike Derek, Stiles didn’t need a scent to figure it out. He could feel it.

It’s just gets, weird and off-putting. Ever since I consented, everything has been running with the usual level of chaos, with everyone being themselves and happy. Happy being crucial. Everyone is ecstatic. Mom definitely is. So are all the people who’ve known me ever since I came into this world. And they have the full right to, they tell me it’s ‘the best years of my life, so I should enjoy it.”

Heck, if I was more normal I would be. One girl in the community met a guy in a few days and did something in my culture called a tolbeh. It’s practically an engagement to make things ‘official’ that the boy and girl are together so that they can get to know each other. Her father flew down to Lebanon to find a guy for her. She went down after he found one literally a few days she did the tolbeh. She’s now fully engaged (the next step is the writing of the book where you are fully engaged, allowed to hold hands, touch etc...a major religious aspect) and happy.

Many are like this.

My parents are so happy that I found a good guy with a good family. And they are. 

So why can’t fall in and be like everyone else. It’s annoying because everyone is so happy and seeing this as normal and then...then there’s me. Half the time I am hoping that perhaps if I pray enough, I will change. The other half knows it’s ridiculous. 

But it’s hard to see myself as ‘right’ when every person will say I am wrong. The people in the community who I came out outright reject and/or mock my orientation. It took one person, the most open minded person mind you, 6 years for them to apologize to me because she remembered what I had to go through during those time. 

How can I expect to change the mind of an entire community. Especially when they believe that everything they are doing is for my own benefit.

Sorry for rants, I’ve been feeling out of it

So going along with the Bret 'My whole family died in a house fire except for my sister and I' Talbot/Derek 'Stop stealing my fucking storyline' Hale thing, I started laughing when I saw Bret's sister was named Lori. Like Laura/Lori, did you even fucking try, TW? My first thought was 'I can't wait for PrettiestCaptain to recap this shit'

-whispers- For SFF picture Gabriel taking Sam to a museum and telling him about all of the famous artists and historical figures and telling him what they were like back in the day. <3

OH GOD, BUT YESSSSSSSS, BECAUSE GABRIEL WOULD HAVE THE MOST FUCKING AMAZING STORIES.....

Like, so they go to the Lourve, or MoMa and just, fucking hell, Gabriel starts rattling off story after story about the artist, about the bullshit rumors there are about him, which totally and completely gets him into rants about history in general.  

LIKE I JUST LOVE THE IDEA ABOUT GABRIEL GETTING ALL INDIGNANT ABOUT THE HISTORY THAT IS TAUGHT TODAY, BECAUSE IT IS SO WRONG. 

And Sam sucks up the knowledge like a mother freaking SPONGE, just asking Gabriel question after question...

And Gabriel tells him story after story.  About Da Vinci, about how he actually managed to write the way he did, and his inventions, and the way that he would talk about them, and how enthusiastic he was about learning and science in general.  

Sam finds out things that history has long lost, like how Plutarch and other greek historians were assholes, how the norse gods visited the world all the time, unlike some of the others who stayed hidden or only appeared to select people...

And then Sam just starts asking about things, and then Sam wants to know how Gabriel knows all of this.  

Gabriel just grins and points out that he’s twisted history to go back and visit the interesting parts that he missed the first time around...

So he’s met Cleopatra, exchanged barbs with her (and he points out that her SASS was legendary, and in a time that women were not encouraged to speak up), and then he talks about Caesar, the first one, how his stabbing took place. 

Gabriel talks about Alexander the great, about how large his army was and how brilliant Alexander could be.  And how good in bed he was (and that might make Sam blush before curiosity gets the better of him again and he asks about homosexuality in the ancient greek armies), and then a hundred more things.  

Sam has fallen completely in love before he even has a chance to blink, and he tries to subtly tell Gabriel by asking about the more iconic love stories in history.  Asking about Helen of Troy, the ancient greek love stories, greek tragedies, all sorts of stories.  

Gabriel tells them all, with his own little flavour, for Sam.  But it isn’t until Sam kisses him in the middle of a rant about how poorly Henry VIII’s kingdom truly was, that Gabriel kinda gets the hint.  

Then he decides to up the ante and start SHOWING Sam.

I've explained it. Only some understand. I wish people would...but mental illness is still not properly taught in schools? (well, back when i was in elementary/highschool)

But in her case...shes studying psychology as her major...to be a psychologist...and I worry
